I remember this village from New Leaf. Everyone was really into it and I toured it a few times myself. I didn't know there was a new one in New Horizons! I always thought it was interesting that Aika is kind of dressed like the red doll.

Undertake is the perfect soundtrack for this video. Its haunting and sorrowful, fitting with both the lore of its origin and Aika. It makes your hair stand up on your neck and the longer you hear it the more it makes your skin crawl

Looking at Aika Island circa you touring it (and of course I very much plan to tour it myself!), and considering what you show the creator said about cryptids, I’d say my theory is that Aika is a cryptid herself, turned into one through her insanity (possibly due to the dolly being cursed.) That’s why there is a collector, they’re doing research on the Aika villager phenomona, and maybe there is a multiverse too, which is why there are so many Newton’s cradles?

seing a non-horror enthusiast look at things like this is really funny to me, in the end aika island seems more yume-nikki inspired, with little peices of her minds scattered in surreal form.
