AIKA VILLAGE - Horror Story Dream Address - Animal Crossing New Horizons

I did it! I finally visited the new ACNH version of the well known Aika Village!
I also tried my best to translate the text but feel free to post the corrections~
For those who don't know- Aika Village is a famous Dream Address in Animal Crossing New Leaf which tells a haunting tale of a daughter being possibly murdered by her family. Join me while we adventure through!

Although this one is scary, personally I found the new leaf one scarier. Maybe its just because I was younger when I saw the new leaf one, but I feel like the new leaf one had more of a storyline 🤷🏾‍♀️

My theory with regards to the room with the scarecrows are they represent us, the NMT tickets on the floor are the waste we spend on looking for our dreamy. The dreamy is made up of different villagers (Judy, Bob etc) which we worship.

I didn’t see anyone explain the basement... According to legend, Kuchisake-onna was a woman whose mouth was slit from ear to ear while she was alive. In some versions of the story, Kuchisake-onna was the unfaithful wife or concubine of a samurai. As punishment for her infidelity, her husband sliced the corners of her mouth from ear to ear. After her death, the woman returned as a vengeful spirit. She covers her mouth with a cloth mask, or in some iterations, a hand fan or handkerchief. She also carries a sharp instrument with her, which has been described as a knife, machete, scythe, or large pair of scissors. Kuchisake onna sneaks up on her victims in the dark and asks them if they think she is beautiful, If the victim answers yes, she pulls off her mask and reveals a red, blood-dripping, grotesque mouth. Then she asks in a grisly voice if they still think she is beautiful, If her victim answers no or screams in terror, she slashes him from ear to ear in an imitation of her own mutilation. If you say yes both times she’ll do the same thing so that you “Can look as pretty as her.” You can avoid her by saying she’s average or, if yourself is pretty. This will confuse her enough that you’ll have enough time to run away. But other stories vary- Hope this helps! (Sorry for the details-)

I think the old one was scarier, mainly because the night was darker and everything was more mysterious. You didn't have much space to move in some areas and there were scary easter eggs like the grave by the waterfall. I miss the old new leaf times.

I like the old aika village. There are only two islands in new horizons that spooked me. Midori and Hitokui island.

Hi! The girl with the red dress I think her name is illusion park? And she is saying that it's easy to steal isabelles socks haha. Maybe that's why Isabelle is always talking about finding her missing socks in the morning announcements? Also I believe the horror collector is saying he wants a cannibal town. Kinda strange but yeah.

I think the Pink haired guy with the Kitsune mask is actually the Creator of the island, he has most of the notable things that was featured in the island in his house. But I could be wrong. And also that "Shrimp" that was in the moon area, I just realised that that was actually a Babies/Fetus Skeleton.

I think the ants on the mom represent that she is dead. And it's easy to swim says that Aika drowned herself, so far. "I love mom" says that Aika can't live without her.

The room with the scarecrows, tickets, and slit mouth person paintings make me think of Kunekune, a monster from Japanese urban legend that pretends to be a scarecrow, the forum post story about the train station I cant remember the name of, and of course the slit mouth woman

I interpreted the 'star'-ranking room as the current fixation humanity has on social-media etc.. it seems like everything is either ranked 1 (terrible) or a 10 (terrific), rarely do I see much in-between. Now that I give it more thought, Animal Crossing NH has its own island-ranking.. might be a meta commentary on that. Still.. I personally think most folks are too fixated on the ranks and not other aspects of said entertainment.

That's actually a really good thought- It makes a ton of sense. Even in the AC community sometimes channels will only "Island Tour" or a "Dream Address" if they have a 5 star island so they can put it in the title even if 3-4 star islands sometimes look even better.

I think it's a town that relies on tourism because of the singer. But the tourists never leave because the scientist is experimenting with splicing human and amphibian DNA. The weird skeletons on the beach are the failed experiments and the astronauts are really people in hazmat suits.

I feel like this is more of a spin off of the original new leaf one. Because I think there were some extra rooms that had other stuff that wasn’t there before and if you notice there’s some extra story line I think? Not to sure but that’s all I gotta say.

I'm just revisiting this now and there are some things that have changed (ex. Less scarecrows in the basement, no acorns, etc.) from what's here in the video. But the overall story is the same and by golly is it sad..

Ok, I have a theory. (Not like it will make sense) So this is gonna sound werid but aika is the first to die. This causes the parents to go insane, in the first house the room slightly blocked by the dresser with the eyes is meant to be the public, watching them descend into madness, and the toys turned away is meant to be the parents not wanting to hear any of it and not accepting the loss of their daughter, so the dad tries to find a way to revive aika like he's willam afton or something, so after searching for a long time he finds something, it's frogs, maybe frogs were aikas favorite animal or something. But anyway, the father study frogs, the mom, watching all of this, starts the become more depressed and crazier, so she decides to just end it all, (red shoes on the shore) the father continues to search for a way, after finding absolutely nothing, he gives up. He decides to, uhm. Take a swim in the well, (room with pictures of aika and a well at the end) The room with the stands and the crystal hearts with the parents are meant to be the parents losing love for each other, and blaming each other for aikas death. TL:DR aika dies and her parents go coocoo.
