After 2 years, I have revisited this, hopefully with a new understanding. It is my current view that the 'perfect' posture allows us to find a 'gateway' to higher connection of mind and body. The small corrections of where hands go and how much they turn etc are not arbitrary, nor just following another's instruction. When the posture is correct then the body is centred and comfortable. Correct posture is a feeling and not a pose or a picture. I think this is one of the true values of Iwama weapons training. Seeking our own inner sense of peace ... and it will come to us sooner when we find the 'perfect ' postures. Just my opinion.
