4:26 pasuing it here an using the "." key to go forwards frame by frame you can easily see that the punch, had it been aimed at the chin instead of bellow, would have fully ,impacted and probably caused a KO before the defenders (instructors) arm even makes contact. This is the problem with fully compliant partners, it causes training scars like this, reinforcing erroneous patterns. Not a problem at all if training is just for fun but a huge problem if this is for self defense.

You get that this is a demo, he's talking to the camera AND performing things at a speed so that the students can see what's happening. NOT a fight. Right? ALL demonstrations partners are compliant, otherwise it becomes a mess (like a real fight) and no-one can teach or learn anything. I think you may be missing the point a little here my friend.

@@AIKIDOSILVERDALE Demonstrating boxing drills can be done both realistically and without it being a fight, to imply it has to be one or the other is simply not true. In Thailand practice is usually done at half speed but also with control and very light contact, correct form always the goal. This can be in drills or a demonstration or a fight, they are the same. Plenty of training camps all over the world can do so fine without it becoming "a mess". In Judo demonstrations you fall when properly thrown, you do not pretend to fall. Your balance needs to actually be broken. If you are pulled you resist which allows the reversal, resulting in a trip or throw. Clean technique is thereby show to the students. In kickboxing you can drill countering a leg kick with a straight punch, contact is very light but neither side is compliant. The technique would look the same with light contact as it does with full contact. You can do it at any speed, very slow to demonstrate it or very fast in combat and the technique is exactly the same. Trying to now put the blame on me for "missing the point" is both disingenuous and dishonourable, I am not at fault for pointing out the flawed technique being shown.

@@driver3899 this isnt a boxing drill. The video is about how wrist grabs form the basis os learning range , bridging and connection. This video was a clip from a clas, it wasn't put together to please you specifically. I'm not sure what your point is or why you've decided to spend so much of your time trying to find fault with a video teaching basics to a class? Not blaming you, just think (still think) you don't understand the point of both the clip and the method of teaching, and for some reason (a bias?) are trying to escalte this into some kind of "Aikido doesnt do this or that" argument which tbh, we've all heard before and disproved in dozens of the 500+ video's on this channel. Maybe watch something else? Not sure you're open minded enough for the way we share info on this channel, but thanks for swinging by. Merry christmas.

Who the F spends time going through an attack during a demo frame by frame??? IT WAS A DEMO YOU D0UCHE!! LOL Go check out ANY BJJ demo and tell me the uke isn't being compliant?? If you don't like Aikido (and you've obviously got a bee up your @ss about it) stop wasting yours and everyone elses time. d*ck.

Well thanks i guess for the long comment unfortunately yu are vey misguided. Im glad you took the time to go frame by frame in a sequence done in slow motion. I can’t imagine what you are referring to here and its odd that you think you know what is a knock out blow when it was done in slow mo - didn’t make contact- in a demo
