thats the old school High Pressure gun , I have an Old Craftsman gun like that...I have never seen anyone paint a car like that....crazy angles and inconsistant distances from the surface of the car...there has to be runs and drips and sags in the metallic the way he is painting....holy crap dude

Spray gun is supposed to be held parallel to the paint surface. Holding it at an angle like that is going to cause striping you will see once the paint is done.. if this turns out good, he was just lucky that he put enough coats on..

Not sure what the 4d represents. Maybe the steps it takes to complete this paint job if you count the sealer since there are basically 2 base colors (silver & yellow). Looks like every other paint job. Doesnt look deep like regular candy paint jobs.

Nice, well Im studying but and I work at a auto body shop for the menwhile and learning outside of school, here in Costa Rica comes really shitty or fucked up cars, most of them need a new interior, or the guy crashed and fucked up everything so we need the take out all the interior to fix the bends from inside and outside, most of the clients when they paint a car want a new interior, idk, maybe beuase its cheap here

I agree 100%...I spray a lot different than my father...The basics are the same but he couldn't pick up my gun and finish my job without adjusting it to fit his style...As could I use his as he generally uses smaller nozzles, less gun pressure and more fluid flow.etc...It's a learned preference.

andrew henry I agree totally Andrew...He did a few things that I wouldn't do but the results are the Key and this fellow got even coverage...I was watching for tiger stripes and I see none....Color on color work is one of the most difficult tasks in the trade..Personally I would hire him in a second...His wrist action and distances aren't very consistent but it works for him...I stress personal preferences.. And that only comes with time..

You are right , his technique is uneven. You have to spray in even runs , or you are painting over drying areas. Which means you start from the front windshield on the roof and carry that back in runs to the rear spoiler - and when you get to the edges on each side you carry the edge runs through to the bottom of the rear window sails. Then you quickly do the door pillars in an up and down stroke , not back and forth.

Dont know why so many negatives??? Perpendicular not possible in every little piece of body and still looks good, overspray? Yeah just a "bit" so what? Untill cant see any runs its a good job.
