AAAAH! The Sekie Story got published!!! I suppose we should start calling it 'The Mercy of Sea Foam', bc that is its name. You might remember me writing this story in this vlog, way back in January: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGm3iIWul9SMgtE I'm so happy it got published. I'm really proud of it 😭 If you'd like to pick up a copy of the magazine it was published in, there's a link in my description. Take care, guys 💛

I think for the problem of losing time you should get a beautiful loud old-fashioned clock (a small mantel clock or a big cuckoo clock) that strikes every hour, or half-hour. You can look up from your work, move around, drink water, and not lose track of time. The rule is you can't turn it off before bedtime no matter how annoying it gets. Mine is especially annoying when it strikes 11 times at 11 o'clock so I try to remember to turn it off earlier at 9 or 10, and immediately start getting ready for bed where I read a bit before sleeping. And it's okay to start working late even if you do manage to get up early every morning (as long as you're getting enough sleep). Lastly, congrats for the story! And I loved that little painting vlog!❤️

I totally get the part where you're talking about learning not to feel guilty about not starting early in the morning. I found when I went on my own working for myself, journey that my circadian rhythm just wasn't the same naturally, as I had to force it to be when I worked on other people's time. It does take time to learn that it's ok not to start first thing in the morning. I personally have learned I function best when I allow myself to sleep during the day and work at night instead. Congrats on being published!

Hi Christy, I realize this video is almost 1.5 years old, but I wanted to say congrats on getting published! As a fellow aspiring author, I understand the frustrations of rejection and can't imagine the immense joy and sense of accomplishment you felt at learning you were going to be published. Wishing you tons more success! And your videos are really wonderful and inspirational. Thank for you them.

I've been struggling with the same thing schedule/circadian rhythm-wise! I end up getting up around 10 or 11am and feeling slow and sluggish most of the day, not able to get a ton done productively, until the evening when I suddenly feel like I'm actually waking up for the first time and then I can power out hours of productive work until 2am before crashing. Not sure how to fix it, but glad to know I'm not alone in this!

Congratulations on your story being published. Oh my gosh rent inspections were really the main motivator that made me save up and buy my house, but on the other hand they do teach you to keep your house clean :) don't be too harsh on yourself regarding balancing your time, it really just shows how degrading to the mind and body 40 hour work weeks are.

Congrats on getting your story published!!! Also I totally feel you about getting paint everywhere. One time I went to get a sandwich after my painting class and the guy at the counter was like, "Are you ok? Do you need me to call someone?" and I was like, What are you talking about? Turns out I had red paint on my forehead and in my hair.

What is a house inspection?! Why do you have that?
@christy-anne-jones3 жыл бұрын
In Australia, if you're renting, every 3-4 months your real estate agent will come and inspect your apartment/house on behalf of the landlord to make sure there are no scratches on the walls or neglect in cleanliness or damage of any kind. They give you a generic list of things to clean prior to them coming (you have to clean out the exhaust fans and aircon, scrub the oven, etc.) We didn't have to do inspections when we lived in Japan so I wondered if they don't have them in other countries....... apparently not hahaahah
