OMG I think I just found a masterpiece. Ailee's version of Sakura is so incredible, I can't even do justice to explain how amazing it sounds with words. She sings with such a graceful execution, so smooth and controlled, displays such expert dynamics while resonating with a gentle intensity, then transforms to emotionally powerful vocals with which to convey the lyrics and emotions of the piece. Her vocals, in addition to how melodious and emotionally compelling the musical track is produce such a moving, truly beautiful piece.

To be of Korean ethnicity and to actually speak Korean, are two different things. She was born and raised in the States and, according to interview I've seen. had difficulty with Korean in the beginning of her career. As far as I'm concerned is Japanese not a course in American classes and since her parents aren't Japanese, she wouldn't have been exposed to Japanese prior to coming to Korea, where she first had to upgrade her Korean. So I still highly doubt Ailee's Japanese is fluent enough to be able to sing this song fully in Japanese.

I thought I'd like either Ailee's version or Ikimono Gakari's version better... But to be honest they both feel so different that I can't really choose one of them, both are amazing! I really like the arrangement on Ailee's version as well as the kind of genre they went for, it sounds really good.
