Believe me, I've been a fan for years and can understand Korean well enough to know this video is very exaggerated. Korea actually respects her more & pays more attention to her than international K-pop fans. It was really the poor management & promotion that ended up hurting her career, along with long hiatuses between music releases. I also admit that she should've made better creative choices to appeal to the general public, as well.

I completely agree with you! While it's true that looks are a huge part of kpop, it's now at another level. I recently finished watching JYP's Nizi project. These 13 to 19yr old girls just worked hard to improve in dance, singing while JYP also required STAR POWER and great PERSONALITY! yet a lot of comments were about how pretty/super visual the winners will be with Kpop makeup for debut 😭😱🤢 I felt a pit in my stomach reading that. In Japan it's more about charms than being super pretty for idols and just being talented for artists and LDH idols while being attractive isn't necessary or just extra frosting on the cake. it's so disappointing that (nowadays)the Hallyu wave in Japan results in them(commenters) looking forward to the visuals in Kpop before great songs, dances or entertainment in variety shows.At least the English comments of International fans showed a lot of support for the girls and enthusiasm on how they'll do in JYPE!

For me, the weirdest part is that when a trainee talks how they only ate an ice cube a day to lose weight before their debut because their company made them, nobody bats an eye and it's not heavily criticised. I don't know about others, but ever since i listen to ailee's song, i fall in love with her voice. No matter how her figure is, her voice still same and that's what matters. Keep strong ailee, always love you ❤️

I obviously became a friend of Ailee because of her natural beauty and her voice. And she's best friends with Amber Liu and Eric Nam. Ailee is such an amazing singer and its extremely disappointing that she isnt well known

Gosh! These people are so annoying. No matter what you do, they'll always have something to say. It's Ailee's body and she has all the rights in the world to go on a diet or to gain some weight. I love her for being her and for having such a powerful, soulful and amazing voice that is out of this world. Let's stop body shaming and patronizing toxic beauty standards. Let's just be our beautiful selves and embrace our own skin. It's not hard to say something nice or to think twice of what you're gonna say. Ailee has always been beautiful at any weight, and most importantly, she is TALENTED. I have very little patience for idols with no skill, no personality, basically just plastic zombies. How do people genuinely like that type? I’ll watch Ailee perform anytime, anywhere because the emotion in her voice brings me to tears!!!

I am a new fan of Ailee I first discovered her in 2019 and the very first song I heard from her was To shaker so when I found this video I watched it and I thought her album butterfly was going to be the best album she ever made or at least not the one of the worst but when it said this was one of the worst albums I was so upset and wondering if the reason was because of the rude netizens if it is then the Korean standard for beauty needs to upgrade to accepting every body type. Because her voice is amazing and she deserved the love for the album butterfly. I really loved this album

Back at kcon LA 2018 I had the pleasure to experience a hi-touch with her, even though she wouldn’t be my first choice and I didn’t know too much about her except that she has a KILLER voice and was super talented, I really enjoyed the experience. The audience was lovely and very supportive of her and the only thing I could think as soon as she stepped onto the stage was how beautiful she was and how beautiful she is up close. Weight never even crossed my mind, I mean she was just so beautiful. Genuinely one of the prettiest people I’ve seen. It kinda makes me sad how she fell off of popularity because she’s so incredibly talented and all people could do was reduce her to her body size. Gosh her voice is so amazing I’ll never get over it. I hope there comes a day where there’s a real Ailee resurgence. She deserves it more than anyone.
