Aim Sports WRAITH Handguard

A mouthful of a name, but one heck of a quality AR-15 handguard and the price point is amazing. I’m doing a quick unboxing and review of the Aim Sports WRAITH Fire Series Handguard. 1.34” in diameter to house flash can-type of muzzle devices and low profile gas blocks.

I have had this rail for about 4-5 years now. I’m actually going to be upgrading it soon. I noticed that the cross bolts that hold the rail to the barrel nut wall loose, it can be fixed with some lock tight and torque. But also the mlok slots seem to be out of spec just slightly. But I guess for the price it’s not to bad. Can’t complain when it’s only 70-90 bucks

4-5 years is a long time to put it through its paces. It should last forever, but I understand what you mean. Did it hold up to heat well?

@@PhDarien what I meant to say is I mounted it 4-5 years ago. And have only got that rifle out about 2-3 times in that time. Besides that it just sits in the safe. I run my other rifle when I get out on the range. I sighted it in and then took it out a couple of times I never got it too hot and I also have mlok covers so it’s probably shielding from the heat. But sighting it in and then a bout 2/3 trips to the range and those bolts walked loose so anyone out there MAKE SURE you loctite

How do you torque the barrel nut? No adapter in the box.

You can use a normal wrench like a crescent wrench. Personally, I prefer those type of barrel nuts. Proprietary ones are a pain to take off if you can’t find or lose the barrel nut adapter.

@@PhDarien I figured but how do you get it to torque specs if you can use a torque wrench? I can always just use a cresent wrench and guess. But I’m so strong. My mom says so. Usually hand guards come with an adapter to attach to your torque wrench.

True. There is a crescent wrench head with an ability to attach a torque wrench. That’s what I meant to say.
