As someone obsessed with Magnolia, i’m actually pretty blown away that this music video got made. The film was complicated enough to make! Yet they actually took the time to have Aimee come in on 8 separate occasions to lip sync while some of the finest actors on the planet just sat there in the shot. How in the hell did they manage to get all of this done? Also, one of the best casts for a music video, even if they’re not doing anything

took the time? Obviously they made it at the same time as they shot the scenes for the movie.

I discovered Aimee Mann the same time I fell into a path forward in life at 25 after a long period of stress and worry. Also the same time I had a $500 car and money for gas to drive through remote parts of the Rocky Mountains… with some time off for reflection to take it all in. 17 years ago… Unbeknownst to me at the time, one of the greatest and impactful periods of my life. Grateful this music was there to share it with me.

I think she’s the latter… Are you aware she was the front woman of Til Tuesday, the 80s group behind “Voices Carry”? She wrote it about how she was kidnapped as a child by her mother… a scary story actually.

I am here to tell anyone like me the truth. I heard this song today for the first time and broke down. My wife had just had our daughter in 99 and by 2000 my wife was diagnosed with bone cancer...She relied on me, but the cancer killed her. 2021 my brother kidneys failed and went on dialysis, I tried to get him to take offered kidneys and he turned them down twice! Nov. of this past year, he had a hemorrhage and a powerful stroke and died. I learned all you can do is try but you can't really save anybody.....only God can .... but, here on Earth Death catches up to everybody sooner or later no matter what you do.

Late to the party here, but there is a lot of esoteric symbolism in both the film and the music video, and they comment on each other. PTA possesses real genius. To gloss it a little, the use of Aimee Mann as a singing "Watcher" has biblical connotations. She is connected to the lights and the cameras, and the revolving sets and movement during frozen tableau suggests she operates beyond/between space and time. She is associated with Sophia and A.I. as well. Very deep stuff

I've only learned of Aimee Mann this week, and I'm so damn glad that I've found an artist such as her. She's VERY distinctive: with her gorgeous face, unique videos, and liquid lyrics that flow throughout each song of hers. She's definitely one of my FAVORITE artists forever. Thank you Aimee, for creating such wonderful music, and giving emotion. Funny thing - the first time I listened to this song, I started crying so much, and not with sad tears, it's such an emotional song. Thank you.
