I love this song, but I always wished the final line was "So just give IT up." Giving up isn't a solution, giving up what you thought you wanted but isn't any more is more empowering. What a difference one word can make.

I took/take this song two ways... one give up means fall into the grace of god, quit trying to do it on your own and the other.. you'll never really wise up so just get on with your life get high and forget about it for a while. That has always been my interprettatin within myself. Ive never really talked about it with any one else

I would say wake up and save yourself. The meaning of this song is deep, it could be different from person to person. It is possible to change if you wise up. If we receive help, understanding and we just make it happen. With open mind and good will there are no limits for the recovery of anyone.

Yeah I used to do that too. But after having some $20 duds, I stopped. Especially now that it's so hard to find used cd shops to sell back some of the loss. Now I check youtube and Amazon samples before I buy anything. And without KZbin and Pandora radio, I'd probably only buy two records a year.

It's not about compensation. Plenty of other artists and their recording companies let their songs play in exchange for running a short commercial. I have no problem with that, but this is the third time I've had to find this song because it keeps getting pulled down. On top of that some of the people had some really good videos to accompany the song. And one other thing. Most radio stations don't play this song so I have to get it from KZbin.
