Here's my take on Fats Waller, Harry Brooks, and Andy Razaf's 'Ain't Misbehavin'', recorded live at Mr. Vain. / mrvainbrisbane
'Ain't Misbehavin'' was written in 1929 for the Broadway musical 'Connie's Hot Chocolates'. It was recorded six times in 1929 alone-by Lew Conrad with Leo Reisman and His Orchestra, the Louis Armstrong Orchestra, Bill Robinson with Irving Mills and His Hotsy Totsy Gang, Gene Austin with Leonard Joy and His Orchestra, Ruth Etting, and Fats Waller himself-and all six records were greatly successful.
Other artists to record the tune include Anita O'Day, Sarah Vaughan, Bing Crosby, Billie Holiday, Eartha Kitt, Ella Fitzgerald, Kay Starr, Frankie Laine, Nat King Cole, Johnny Hartman, and Ray Charles, among many others.
