There was supposed to be a sea of blood in that battlefield because of all the people those baby goats crushed under their foot, and they were also supposed to charge with high speed, but anime changed it to this. Honestly I still think music of this scene is really nice but if only animation was able to show the terror that those soldiers felt by showing us the real battlefield, it would have been 1000% time more epic.

The worst thing is that it wasn't even for censorship reasons or anything like that, Madhouse was overloaded with work that year so the use of CGI was inevitable, but as a result it ended up losing the impact and epicity of the whole situation. It doesn't help that the CGI for this studio wasn't very good to begin with.

i would have loved the baby goats to be not godzilla sized and more close to how the books described. i mean the image of a dump truck is still alive in my mind. if this was rated mature, man that would be great

Someone has probably already commented the splatsplatsplat scene... but I just wanna share /another/ excerpt from the LN, as Nimble and the Imperial Army watched the slaughter: ~ He had no idea where he was. So wretched was this tragedy that even the enemies of the Royal Army, the Imperial knights, offered up prayers for them. They prayed that at least some would survive. The more, the better. They had come here to kill the enemy. However, no human being could remain unmoved and not feel pity when they witnessed the massacre taking place in front of them. Anyone who could remain unmoved would be a fiend with a man’s face, an inhuman being. In addition, Nimble and the knights realized that this could not be dismissed as a matter of “us vs them.” Certainly, from the point of view of the Kingdom against the Empire, this disaster was happening to “them.” But when you looked at it from the perspective of men against monsters, this brutal slaughter was happening to “us.” ~ lmao no wonder they ran tf away when one of the goats approached them imagine giving PTSD to your own "allies" to assert dominance lol

2:50 the yearly war was a plan by the empire to force the kingdom to draft a large amount of soldiers when they needed to harvest their fields. A long term plan to for them into a famine and make them easier to conquer. The dark young are supposed to be 10 meters tall (not including the tentacles) and incredibly fast. 6:58 similar design but they aren’t undead

The reason he doesn't feel anything is that he is an undead and that is one of their traits. I haven't read the manga but if some magic ever turned him human he would probably feel immense guilt.

Another thing to let you know those 13 red caps from the last episode one for one, they're more powerful than a death. Knight and she has 13 of them. Emery's army is actually The third strongest army on the continent

when the empire knights routed and fled in panic, some of them stayed and stared. amazed and watching, looking at something akin to a natural disaster. the beauty of a tornado bearing down upon you, a few will stand and watch its magnificence

splat and the yearly war is part of a long term strategy and more of an economic war .. the empire has professional warriors while the kingdom has a militia ... so the empire declares war during harvest season.. the empire has to levy troops from the population .. the empire marches up and down a few times and goes home .. (that's why the kingdoms nobles are so arrogant) .. it's a very good stratetgy ... the kingdoms harvesting capabilities is reduced while the empire has no casualty .. after a couple of years to a decade the kingdom would have had serious starvation problems

The Yearly wars were about attrition. The Emperor would invade every year right around harvest time, because he used professional soldiers it wouldn't effect him, but the Kingdom used conscripted farmers as there soldiers so they wouldn't be able to get a full harvest. The Emperor is slowly starving the kingdom so he will be able to take them over easily. The truth is that the Kingdom would probably be gone right now if Ains hadn't intervened in the 3rd and 4th episode of the first Season. The spell he used wasn't his most powerful, and Mare could have killed all of the Kingdoms soldiers in one spell if they wanted to as Mare is an AOE specialist. He just wanted to show how powerful the Sorceror Kingdom was.

Personally I feel that Gazef made a bad choice. I mean he could of saved 10's of 1000's of lives by taking the deal. those lives, were the backbone of the kingdom. So in turn Gazef chose for people to starve because the farms could not be ran due to the lack of labor. Plus by choosing Ainz as a leader your choosing someone that reports would of said treats Carne Village well... has in fact fortified them had he lived a few more days. Going strictly off what Gazef personally knows; he knows that Ainz would do whats needed to save those he wants to save... the king he serves on the other hand is a beaten down nice guy. forced more than once to do things no one wanted because his own nobles have to much sway over him. The King he serves lacks the skills to maintain the tills. Ignoring Ainz the Kingdom was already slowly dying. So Gazef I feel chose a path of uncertainty and guaranteed immediate loss over a chance that things would be better. A bad choice.

Personally, I think ot was Ainz who made the mistake of asking Gazef, instead of the king. Gazef is the king's sword, and fulfills that duty without question. To defect would tarnish the king's reputation - if all he had to sacrifice was his own reputation I believe he'd take the deal. To contrast,, u believe if Ains asked Raven, he would agree to join and try act as a negotiator for the kingdom.

Ainz asked Gazef, assuming he was foremost a wise and intelligent man, who would place the needs of his nation over personal honour. It's why Ainz calls him a fool when he doean't take the deal and challenges Ainz to a duel.

Let's hope the next season will have some animation of higher quality, at least some better CGI. The anime didn't really do the novel justice in this episode.

the 4 people the cute baby goats were not supposed to kill were gazef the king climb and lord raven the dotting father cos he has ties with princess renner and she told demi not to kill him and demi told ains so you see who really is making the plans and moving people is really the smartest person in the room namely renner

I honestly feel like the CGI totally ruined this season, the goblin thing before was bad enough but this "massacre" ended up looking comical visually because of how bad it looked. If I remember correctly Madhouse was quite overworked that year and this was the result.
