Hello friend, thank you very much for seeing here. To many it may have seemed that this chapter was not too bad, but for the readers of the novel and the manga it was quite disappointing because it should have been the best chapter of the entire season. Once again, some terrible CGI makes a chapter that should have been memorable barely passable. Of course, this could be due to financial reasons or perhaps they didn't think the series would have a fourth season. But surely it is also due to an event. I will not go into details, but apparently a terrible incident occurred in Japan, where a man went mad and caused the death of many people. Now, we all know that when someone is crazy enough to murder, he doesn't care if he is watching movies, listening to rap or reading Shakespeare... ¡Anything will become an excuse for him to murder! But it is one thing to know it and another to feel it. It turned out that the culprit watched a lot of anime of the GORE genre and since then there was a strong social pressure for all anime to be "Family Friendly". Luckily this silly trend of censoring art is already dying out, but at the time this season came out it was still going strong and ruined not only Overlor but entire franchises of Animes, like Sekai Saikyou's Arifureta Shokugyou, which was projected to be one of the best ever made, full of fast fighting, lots of violence, comedy and with quite graphic action, but it ended up becoming a terrible compendium of simplicity, poor CGI, a lousy soundtrack and too much pastel colors. Anyway, let's talk about the chapter: The first thing we see is Ainz casting his spell, as always waiting a bit to tempt any player who might be hiding to attack him. But he eventually gets tired and uses a Cash Item to shorten the waiting time. And this entire chapter is focused on Super Tier Magic, but due to the bad animation, there is a lot of terror that this terrible spell should have caused in the viewer. The novel represents it with the following text. [¿What on earth happened? Nobody could answer that question. Every living creature that comprised the left wing of the Kingdom’s army -horses, conscripts, knights, nobles, everything- suddenly keeled over and collapsed on the ground like puppets whose strings had been cut. The ones who realized the answer first were the Imperial troops, ranged against them. It took a while for the human mind to properly parse the events that had just transpired. So, after a short delay, as a terrible understanding dawned upon them, the Imperial army was gripped by shouts of panic. After watching Ainz Ooal Gown deploy his magic circle, they had assumed that he was casting some sort of spell. That much they could understand. However, ¿who could have possibly imagined it? ¿Who could have imagined the horrific spell that had been cast here? The spell that was cast had slain 70'000 people (¡More than the entire Imperial army!) in an instant, utterly and completely snuffing their lives out. Unable to believe their eyes, the Imperial knights prayed to whatever gods they believed in. They prayed that the people of the Kingdom were not dead. They prayed that such terrible magic did not exist in this world.] Pretty shocking, isn't it? And it turns out that all that needs to be explained in this episode is the spell that Ainz used, a type of Super Tier Magic that allows you to summon creatures called "Dark Youngs" in exchange for the lives of several enemies, which in this case were 70,000. men of the kingdom These are based on the mythology of the American horror author HP Lovecraft. Shub-Niggurath is a terrible female deity who sent her children, the "Dark Youngs", to collect the sacrifices that her devotees make to her. Under normal circumstances, each summoning of the Dark Youngs would only produce one entity, which was itself a cause for celebration for players. Although being able to summon two of them was considered a rarity, Ainz broke the record by managing to summon five Dark Youngs, which is the highest number known so far. However, the Dark Youngs will eventually disappear after a certain amount of time elapses. In the novel they are described as follows: [Suddenly, a vast tree grew from the black tar that covered the earth. No, that was nothing as pleasant as a tree. At first, there was only a single trunk, but then it multiplied. Two, three, five, ten… they waved in a wind that was not there. What was growing there... were tentacles. “MEEEEEEHHHH!!” Suddenly, they heard the adorable bleating of a goat. And it wasn’t just one goat. The sound of a herd of goats seemed to have come from nowhere. As though drawn by the sound, the asphalt writhed up, and it gave birth to something. It was something that was far too strange, too unnatural. It was ten meters in height. If you added the length of the tentacles, that figure became unclear. At a glance, it resembled some sort of turnip. In place of leaves, it had numberless black tentacles, and its body was a slab of meat covered in raised lumps. Below that were five legs, like those of a goat’s, tipped with black hooves. Fissures appeared on its body -that thick slab of meat covered in lumps- peeling and splitting with the sound of something shattering. These cracks were not limited to just one area. And then... “MEEEEEEHHHH!!” The adorable bleating of goats rang forth from those openings. They were savage maws that drooled without end. There were five of them. They revealed their spine-chilling forms to everyone on the Kattse Plains. The Dark Young of the Black Goat. And their level was over 90.] So yes, the spell Ainz used was quite OP and unnecessarily cruel. According to Princess Renner, the total number of casualties caused by the spell during the Katze Plains Massacre was over 180,000 deaths. I have to clarify that in medieval wars the number of deaths was quite low because there were no firearms and the armors were excellent, hence the usual thing would be that between 300 and 500 people died in each battle and, if one was unlucky, maybe 1,000. Everything changed with the World Wars, because the death toll was unthinkable and for the first time a new disease appeared: War Trauma. Something similar happened to the people of the Empire in this chapter: They were simply terrified by the sight of such devastation and even begged that their enemies could be saved, the more the merrier. That's why Nimble asks Ainz: "¿Are you a demon?" because he wishes to continue with such a massacre even though it's not necessary, because the Kingdom's army is escaping. But Ainz doesn't feel anything for his emotional suppression and gets confused, thinking that Nimble has made a mistake about his race and that's why he clarifies: "I'm undead". Well, I hope you liked this comment and that the information was useful. The following is the last chapter of the season!

Even if I sometimes spoiler myself reading your comments (reading novels atm) I apreaciate the recaps of yours. But this time I want to add that 300-500 ppl dying in medieval battles is somewhat accurate but also misleading. There were few big battles but they did exist. With casualities in the thousands or tens of thousands. BUT they were often over the period of multiple days if not weeks like sieges or ransacking entire countrysides. If by you mean a single clash of oposing armies, then they were even more rare. Like Arminius obliterating the entire legions of Varus (rome) in one fell strike. Although that was less medieval times and more classical era. 70k people dying in a single day not to speak of hours or mere moments is something that wouldn't be comprehended by most people in the olden times.

@@merlin3361 Yes, until the First World War the record for deaths in a war was held by Hannibal Barca in the battle of Cannae, with about 70,000 or 80,000 Roman deaths. My point was that in the Middle Ages "generally speaking" deaths were much less because scale got smaller, armor got better, and thinking changed. In the First World War, on the other hand, everything changed, because thanks to the weapons and the materialistic mentality, it could have been the case that a million men died in a single day of the war without much problem. In the end there were 10 million for the first WW and 30 million for the second WW, that's without counting the deaths from the diseases that came later, the Nazi, Soviet and Japanese concentration camps and the subsequent famine. In that sense at least, the medievals were much more civilized.

That magical aura is just the effect of casting any Super Tier spell. Fallen Down is only ONE of many such spells. ;) Shub-Niggurath is one of the major eldritch Outer Godsfrom Lovecraft's Cthulu mythos.She is called The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young. The "Dark Young" are her children and typically require a blood sacrifice to summon just one of them. The first part of the spell was just to make the sacrifice. This was the first time the larger population of the New World realized just how far Ainz is above their concepts of what a powerful magic user is (remember until now Fluder was considered probably the most powerful caster in the New World)

In the LN covering the massacre almost a whole page tells the battle by repeating one word:"Splat!" for the entire page. The Empire suffered losses as well due to the panic when the baby goat came over to get Ains, many soldiers got trampled by other soldiers running from Ains.

From what we know, Mare is actually a quite a powerfull magic caster, a druid build specialising in AoE damage and support spells, he seems to be quite stronger than his older sister who is a summoner. Mare has been compared to Shalltear when it comes to raw power in the novels, so I'd say he is actually one of the most dangerous floor guardians, although his focus isn't 1v1 duels.

Marie has the strongest AOE spells of all NPC, he is said to have the most destructive power. Aura is more suited for various missions.

As far as sheer power, no question. But as far as style AND function goes, you have to give it up to "The Goal of All life Is Death".

It always makes me laugh when I remember Jircniv comparing Mare to Ainz. In tactical terms, Mare is a cannon, while Aura is a Seal team. They're both lvl 100, but play different roles in a formation. Yes, it's definitely Ainz. He calculated the possibility of another player jumping in while he was casting the spell.

You asked who was stronger, Aura or Mare, I could be wrong but from my understanding is that Mara is far stronger on a large scale, his spells are overwhelmingly devistating, but hes more focused on AoE, where as Aura is more versitle with her pets, im not sure who would win if they faught eachother though. Though it was mentioned somewhere i cant recall that in the in all of Nazarick, the only NPCs who might have more then even odds of beating Mare are Shalltear and Albedo (theres another but they may just be a LN exclusive as no mention yet of them in show) I know it was mentioned in the LN that Mare is on the strength level of Shaltear for strongest floor guardian, whilst Shalltear is the strongest dueler, Mare is the strongest AoE damage dealer. in episode 1 when you seen Aura and Mare fighting the fire element, Mare actually played more support for that situation since allot of his offensive spells have larger AoE attacks. He has allot of support abilities. He also does have some animals like his sister, not sure if it was clarified in the show, but the dragon that Aura and Mare rode on to visit the empire was actually Mare's dragon, not Aura's.

Mare is the more powerful in terms of spellcasting and raw strength, Aura is more of a summoner who has beasts fight for her.
@KalisaFox Жыл бұрын
@@Sweet_Venom0027 well aura is a ranger/beast tamer. shes very good at fighting with a bow and shes quite strong even without her pets. She is defined as a front liner that excells in group combat and guerrilla warfare. She also has her whip for close range combat, which she used during the fire elemental fight. But its true she is considered one of the weaker floor guardians if she was to fight without her pets, with them though im not sure where she would actually rank.
