Less is more is the trend now. If you can get away with this much power in such a small package, then it's great. Reliability is very important to me. Because I just crash a lot...

It wasn't great but almost 3 years ago on my second build I used an aio alcada fc for a full size 5 inch race rig. They will have 6s capable whoop boards able to fly full 5 inch freestyle rigs of 800 grams. It's amazing how far we've come in the past 3 years I've been in fpv, and Soo far in the 25+ I been in the hobby. Thanks, take care!

I've been using an AIO board on my 5 inch for months now. 45 amp rated and running 2306 motors and 740 grams all up weight. I've had no trouble so far. I prefer AIO boards. They take up a lot less room.

Yes! My feelings exactly! Trouble is for me finding one with all the features I like. The Flywoo Goku GN745 has all of them (only 8Mb of Blackbox, wish it was at least 16, but I can work around that). Just grabbed the last GN745 I could find in stock in N. America yesterday. Banggood is showing them as discontinued. Flywoo does have the GN745 EVO HD, but that's a larger form factor. Only other AIO FUN I've been able to find that comes close with all the features of the GN745 F7 is the iFlight Beast. Been reluctant to try it as long as GN745s have been available

@@TMacFPV I'll check them out eventually. I looked into it before and it seemed a little complicated for someone that wasn't very good at flying yet, so I decided to try to get good at flying as the betaflight settings are and then learn to tune. If I can fly a poorly tuned quad well then tuning it should make my piloting skills seem even better.
@TMacFPV3 жыл бұрын
@@CarbonGlassMan Exactly CarbonGlassMan! However, you're most likely flying a very nicely tuned 5" Quad since Betaflight Dev's have done an outstanding job with defaults for 5" Quads. in fact, the defaults work quite nicely from what i've seen on 4" and under too. Just a little tweaking here and there if you really want to get into it and spend the time. Not necessary though to have fun! Many thanks & much respect to BF Dev's!

i recently got 3 of these, only 1 built so far but it is a much better aio than the jhmcu 35a f4 i was using. blackbox was the reason i bought these. the 3" i build flies nice on stock, now i just gotta learn the blackbox. i cant yet comment on durability even though iv crashed it a load already. shame the solder pads are so small they are a nightmare and no labels makes it easy to solder the wrong pads. i had my rx and tx over one pad to far even after a long study. luckily iv made this mistake before and went straight to it. i do notice it has 4 extra motor pads does that mean you can have more motors? It comes on 4.2.0 should i upgrade to latest firmware?
@TMacFPV3 жыл бұрын
Hey DIY FPV! You don't "need" to update any firmware at anytime unless you would like to in order to get added features and possible fixes that have come out (true with transmitter firmware also). For each of my builds when starting out with them I do update to latest firmware ONLY after saving the original CLI " dump all" to a Word file just in case I need to revert back to it later. Regarding Blackbox, this may help get you started kzbin.info/www/bejne/m36wo3WbjZZlopI . Clear skies friend!👍😁
@Loz3483 жыл бұрын
@@TMacFPV just a quick one cos i always update to latest too so most likely will. Why would you save a stock firmware. Surly re flash 4.2.0 would contain all the same files its just board orientation, motor mapping and all the other changes that are applied is that correct? Am i understanding this correctly? I never save my config just flash and if the motors are mapped wrong ect only takes 10mins to correct most things. Or am i missing something important here?
@TMacFPV3 жыл бұрын
no, not missing anything too important. Just ease of use for reference. If you've got the "dump all" file saved, no need to reflash, just copy and paste into CLI and hit return. Also, you can "search" on saved file using CTRL F to find any setting you may need to research. Just stuff like that. Its also available to you n a file without having to connect to Betaflight. Just a "backup" way of doing things

here you go. A link to teh CLI "Dump Alls" for both e original Betaflight 4.2.0 firmware that came with it (this starts on page 24 of the document) and the updated Betaflight 4.2.6 firmware (which starts on page 1). headers in bold precede each version of teh command settings. You only need to use 1 (either the pages for BF 4.2.0 OR the pages for BF 4.2.6) bit.ly/FlywooGN745AIOFCBF420andBF426CLIDumpAlls

A couple of dumb questions here. How do you mount these 45° off-set kind boards on a regular frame? Do I need a 3d printed adapter? Wouldn't that plastic adapter warp under high operating temperature?
@BrandonBeans3 жыл бұрын
Folks use an adapter plate usually. Alot of frames are coming with the toothpick pattern mounting option now.
@TMacFPV3 жыл бұрын
I use the 3D adaptor for which I have a file you can print out here drive.google.com/file/d/1CyZ8u7AA5XuAvWAQRZMTqOl88ycRKv0i/view (heat hasn't hurt mine at all--its dense enough) or as Brandon baked Beans has said you can also get an adaptor plate. Hey Tmac, if you get a sec can you check out my newest video. i think my brand new Nebula Pro Vista is DOA
@TMacFPV3 жыл бұрын
Hey Barnz1980! I checked out your video with the Vista issue. Not certain bit it could be a couple things. First, I noticed in the video you said you connected it to 5V. Its my understanding the Vista takes 7.4-26.4V input. Secondly, it MAY actually be your "smoke stopper." IF your smoke stopper has 2 different settings (such as 1A or 2A) and you're using the lowest setting, it may get "tripped" simply because the Vista is drawing more current than what you have the smoke stopper set at (even though the Vista is drawing its "normal" amount). What I'm trying to say here is you MAY have your smoke stopper set at the wrong setting for use with the Vista unit. Of course, if you. From Oscar Liang's article on the ViFly Smoke Stopper: "It has two current limit levels - 1A and 2A for different applications. If there are power hungry devices installed in your drone, like a VTX or DJI Air Unit, you can select 2A. The 1A option is safer and more sensitive, preferably for low power builds like a 2″ or 3″." Pease note, if this is NOT your issue and you change the setting on your smoke stopper when you actually DO have an issue, then you will risk burning out other components. This was my "Disclaimer!" Maybe one of these will help.

@@TMacFPV thanks for checking that out Tmac 👍 Oh the the 5v, that's something I overlooked BUT actually have my 1st vista wired the same on the Armattan Gecko 3" & to the same FC (mamba mini stack) 🤔🤔🤔. The gecko has been in the air a few months now & all good. Saying that I will still definitely move the + connection though & try that 👍. My smoke stopper is a YRrc stopper off Banggood, it doesn't have a swtch on it 😭 Many thanks for your quick reply mate 👍👌

@@TMacFPV ok so I had some coffee & sat down to fiddle with drone. I moved the vista + & - wires to a vcc pad & the ground next to it. Still the same 😢 BUT then I removed the vista from the drone (again 😂🤣) & now the drone seem to be STILL doing the short on last beep 🤔. That new, every other time I've had the vista disconnected I don't have a problem. Rather confused I decided to plug the vista directly into a 4s battery (via smoke stopper ofcourse) & after a bit the lights are bloody staying on!! & Then I finally see the lights go full green!! WTF!! So my vista works via a battery but not from the FC (5v or VCC) Oh god lol, so I'd lean towards my FC is dodgy then? Both were brand new before being soldered together on Friday. P.s I may have ordered another Vista last night 😐 sigh...
