I hope it does. I loved Aion so much. And I'm pretty sure I was the only pure (and probably the best) PvE templar on siel server. Everyone tried to tank with a PvP build and a greatsword using dps. I had a GS, sure but I also had 1h+shield and 10 taunt skills....10! If it comes back, I am 100% down to give it a go

@@solitudegaming There is a Pserver with 1.9 version of Aion that started like 1 month ago. Server is located in Moscow, but have many proxy servers around world so its possible to play with normal ping. Few days ago it hits 2k+ players online and a siege in Reshanta was amazing. Aion Empire, after good old Infinite Aion this one brings memories and good old grind :)

I've been playing games for over 20 years and Aion since launch up to 3.0 are still my fondest memories I've ever made in any game. God I hope Aion Classic comes to the west without any of the western p2w crap. Great vid! :)

I remember way back then I started playing as a cleric and I came to the point in the elyos start zone where you had to farm the marks from the elite zone. Lucky me there was a group looking for a healer, so I applied. It was already quite late at night so we had the place almost for ourselfs. All of us were determined to get the quest done for everyone in one sitting. So it took us quite a few hours and then the boss spawned we were all so excited. Took us 3 tries to kill him cause noone of us knew what to do. We ended up making a guild afterwards. That was fun...

Aion burnt me out of mmo's. I had a love hate relationship with it, unfortunately it ended in hate. I loved the early days but with each passing expansion, it got too much. The increasing amount of toxicity. The constant uphill battle to get geared , getting kicked from parties for not being geared enough or not hitting quick enough and it became so time consuming. I quit the game 7 years ago. Im saying this because 1.9 was the best time i had with the game. Yeah i got ganked a lot in the early levels but i didn't mind, it didn't take forever to get geared as it did with further and further expansions and rifting was such a big part of the game in those days, thats why the classic Aion would appeal to me. I just watch people play on KZbin from time to time and that's enough for me.

If i had all the time in the world which sounds like you do, then i can devote my time to the same constant dungeon runs and actually being there for any abyss point runs which are usually 2am my time and 2 hours after. That's not to mention ping issues i have.. i don't live in the states which makes things more difficult because i cannot compete at the highest level against the people who do live closer to the server. Even with a ping program, at the time it wasnt always stable, drop outs at the worst possible time and i tried them all. These are the issues i had with Aion besides the one's i already mentioned in my post. If you don't like it ? I don't care, go fuck yourself for all i care. Just FYI , I don't play mmo's anymore but i do like to watch others play here on youtube from time to time. So don't give me your "you don't want to try" bullshit because i played Aion for 4 years from release. Guild wars 2? If you like it then go play it you idiot. Save your condescending remarks for your LFG chats.

Can't wait to see if Gameforge gets its hands on it. Especially if they implement a Daeva Pass system in EU version, that's if it ever comes to EU/NA. That Daeva Pass will be filled with Blue Gear/ Enchantment Stones/ Scrolls/ Pots and Loot Pets. That's pretty much 100% gonna happen.

Thanks for all the info, so nostalgic :P But about the "respectful no grief pvp" part, that mentality depends from region to region. I'll give an example from BDO (since it's the game i am playing currently): Based on an interview with one of the KR top players, on KR when someone goes to a grind spot and see it's taken already they leave them be, they change channel etc. Meanwhile on NA/EU they were surprised to hear it's normal practice to ask "duel for spot" and it's not uncommon for people to start ruining rotations, grief, pk etc if the person who was already there refuses to duel so they push them out of the spot. I am 100% sure you would get a different exp on NA/EU version than on KR PvP wise :P

Yeah you're right, maybe i didn't express myself right. I meant that people in Classic are, or appear to be, more...mature about it. Its like the 18 year old that were rifting back in 2009 are now 30 years old and they see things differently. 😃 People seem to be more relaxed in PvP and enjoying the game with less drama and more nostalgia. At least thats what i got from Abyss, Morheim and my guildies

@@PaulDoesDamage I get what you're coming from but it has nothing to do with age. The mentality between these regions are very different. NA/EU are more aggressive when it comes to PvP and progression. And BDO is not dominated by 18 years olds, they are mostly people old enough to spend money. Very few play w/o spending any cent ever after buying the game. (since BDO monetization is a bit predatory :p ). My guild for example are 95% over 25 up to 40+ years old and everyone spend money on the game at some point. The previous guild i was in last year were all over 30+ years old. And yet, the mentality is there. But maybe since AION is an old game and attract mostly old AION players, it will be less like that. Just my 2cents anyway, i probably give it a go when it comes to EU for the sake of nostalgia

Sure Aion is a good game and with the few mmo's we have nowdays it would be a valid option... But I vould never pay a montly fee for a such old game even if the westrn version of Aion Classic wouldt have all the pay to win elements that the Korean version has... Im saying this because i bet the majority of western audience will drop this game when the hype is gone and we allready know how this project will end. Empty starter areas, no dungeons partys and low lvl end gear being obsolete when they drop a new patch.

Hello everyone, Aion ex-fan here. I’ve been playing this game since its beta release and this is my story. (I’ll be sharing this comment everywhere I can, so that people can hear different perspectives.) This is a message to the Aion community and to those who want to be a part of it. I’d advise you to take your time and really consider what I’m about to share with you, because this is not the kind of stuff Gameforge wants you knowing. Hearing this news has been devastating to me, and so I decided to share my thoughts with all of you on the game and its "development". But before I say anything, I’m truly sorry to whoever had their hopes up, but I truly believe, based on years of experience, that this a scam and a disgrace towards the game and what it used to be. Long story short, you could say that Aion was doing decently good up to 4.5 patch. The game wasn’t perfect. It had its downsides, like its p2w parts and its requirement for an advanced graphics cards, especially when considering its era etc. However, it managed to maintain a well-balanced player population, a sense of purpose and progression, things that you’d expect a good MMORPG to have. However, everything changed when the game was bought by Gameforge. Since then, the company has in my opinion completely ruined the game, doing significantly worse with every “new” patch, currently being 7.8-7.9. And I’m not just talking about bad management, I’m talking about an annihilation here. The game is nothing, absolutely nothing like it was back when it was introduced. Basic key thematics and playstyles that made the game unique and alive, like the flight system, the Abyss, the campaign progression, the maps, the gear and so many others left to be mentioned, have either been removed or transformed into something else entirely. As you can understand, 4.6 - 7.9 is a total fiasco. Gameforge has been introducing and at the same time removed huge quantities of content, whether it being old or new, making the game even more unstable. If all of that that wasn’t enough for you, the player population has been plummeting, the game no longer supports an English translation, you cannot advance as a new player, as many things like transformation contracts, minions, enchantments, gold packs and others that are crucial in the game, are either no longer available or extremely hard to acquire. Having said that, we are all left here... I grew up and fell in love with the game. I have to admit that despite everything, I never was one of the top players. I never became famous or highly skilled. Instead, I enjoyed the game for what it had to offer, spending countless hours, weeks, months playing. My goals were never to compete, but to explore the adventure. I was a little kid so the game’s mechanics were too much for my understanding. Instead, I explored every corner of the map, experienced every step of the story, tried every class and quest, you name it. It saddens me deeply to say that the game is dead. The community is either in pieces or has moved on to others games a long time ago. The game is becoming more unrecognizable by the day. Atreia is gone, I’m sorry. Yet, Gameforge has the audacity to announce, :) that they are making an official server based on the original content, with a p2p system leading to dead end with the patches, for players to “explore one of the most diverse character creators of any MMO” or “earn your wings and journey”- I’m not sorry, screw you and your journey. NO! You are the same company that killed the game and will kill it again. “Bringing it back to life”, the life you so cowardly and horribly squeezed out of Atreia is not only disrespectful to NCSOFT, but also to the community, to those kids like me that just wanted to fly but you had our wings torn apart into aethereal dust. I’m not buying the whole “renewing, official server, original Aion” crap. All you are doing is make an embarrassment out of yourself and more importantly spit on the face of Aion and its Daevas. You don’t care about the game, all you bloody care about is making profit. Now, that the game has gone so far down, and you clearly see that your stocks are dropping, you decide- that the only way to make even more money is hit in people’s nostalgia and give them false hopes for what their life used to be. How dare you. If you cared about the game, you’d either shutdown your failure or pass on the ownership to someone with human decency, so they can make an Aion 2 or call off the project themselves. What you are doing is worse than disturbing the dead from their graveyards. Burn in hell. Please don’t install this game. Please don’t come back to it, there’s nothing to come back to. Please don’t give these awful human beings more money. They’ll do just about anything to get what they want, even if that means having a ghost haunting you and calling it “original Aion”. That’s not Aion, it will never be Aion and there’s nothing you can do to change that. Play GW2, Play Black Desert, play ESO, play just about anything else, you are wasting your energy, your time, your resources for a dead game. Move on with your life and don’t look behind and may the Aethereal Lords bless you.

I was playing aion from day 1 (I had an early access account, i still have the metal box of the game :P ) I love the game. so many good memories , but if I could get back those good old days memories of a game, i would invest my time in l2. But boi, the AIon memories :D when you were sitting in the queue for hours just to get crit error when logged in and start again. Or when you got S rank in DP just to die for the 1st attack of Tahabata. To daily far stormwing and got your weapon ninjad by the pug player. WHen the russians kicked you ot of a party just before the boss died so you could not loot. when you broke 100+ mana stones in the 2nd slot of your gear. when you had to do the 6th time the crit crafting for the miragent legs but others got is for the 1st time :)Oh yea. the good old times :)

I don't remember much about Aion, I went back to the NCSoft version recently, didn't really like it, went to a private server, much better older version of Aion but I find I'm having more fun. I want to try Aion Classic, but with WOW Shadowlands and Elyon coming out soon, I feel my sub might go to waste. I hopefully will try it soon though, Good review Sywo, thank you!!! :)

Damn, I miss those days when I had my level 32 Ranger with full Daevanion and few abyss (pvp) accessories, roaming in Eltnen destroying any Elyos I came across, from lvls 25 to 40, or in small groups of 2-3 people. I'm glad the experience is like that (from what you say) but updated. Finally, they should NOT upgrade the game after 2.7. The whole reason for classic, is to play the game at its best (pre 3.0), if they continue to upgrade it after 2.7 it will become the same pile of garbage it is now.

That is when Aion went downhill, it killed rifting and rifting was one of the best experiences for me on Aion and so fun. However, 4.0 was good too with katalam and danaria, but I'd give anything to go back to classic around 3.0. Them days of Steel Rake grinding lol.

What we need is for NCsoft to turn down gameforge's request to release it in EU, and instead release it themselves via NCwest in EU. Like before. Just to prevent the moneyhungry company that gameforge is. If they implement a Goldpack system from the start, Aion classic EU is dead on arrival.

I can't take any of his opinion realistically because I remember he made videos on how 6.0 will revive aion and it ended up being the worse patch ever created. He even liked RNG and he even liked the p2w. His opinion is not a general one.

easier leveling, easier kinah, less greiving, less mob mentality. I just got the survey for this the other day and was looking forward to the classic until i heard you say that in this video! Easy mode westernizing is what fkd the game in the first place! I want TRUE classic!

Youre better off playing with your fish than Aion tbh, much more fun, less RNG, and you will save a fortune and be happier. Nostalgia is good, but best to leave Aion as a memory of the good old days than having hope a classic version is going to be exactly same as 2009. Players from that period have also moved on, they aint coming back.

I'm curious why people always think that games are supposed to be free and the company making it should not in any way get any profit from it. This guy said "maybe they really want to make money out of it". Of course, it is a business, they have employees to pay, developers are costly and every company has a goal to get profit from the products they sell. Technically, games are products, and people should think of it that way. LMAO
