I used to play Aion and was hooked for some time. I had a great time with great friends, it was sometimes silly that countless big people seriously committed to complete 1 stupid mission together. Trolling with Xforms to bash asmos with great music behind. Aion was not only a game, it was really a virtual world as if we actually live in. Aion ost musics are genius masterpieces, and there are countless epic music including this one. I see many people are crying of nostalgia of good old days, and I can't blame them, since I feel the same.

A lot of MMO's have ok soundtracks. A few MMO's have good soundtracks But no other MMO has soundtracks as amazing as Aion.

I played so many mmorpgs...i find GW2 better as "game".i left aion several times..and for some reason, i CANT uninstall this game. i cant forget aion, im always returning, possibly is for its OSTs and nostalgic ambient..but now katalam, danaria and sarpan are gone..damn..levinshor or cygnea are not in the same lvl that those maps..bad choise nc

6.x painfully tore me away from Aion which for a long time I treated it kinda like a second life... tried returning a few months later to try out Painter but NC did this game SO poorly that the only thing I felt when I arrived in Poeta was just...sour and bitterness...I played for about 10 minutes and that was the last time ever since. A friend of mine said Aion cleaned up a lot better in 7.x and even brought back Danaria and Katalam...but I still just haven't brought myself to reinstall that game yet and that just makes me really freaking sad. The soundtrack and the whole world surrounding this game, for years, just did something to me. It made me feel something truly magical and wonderful when a lot of other things especially in real life were so disenchanting. The only word I can use to describe the effect that this game had on my life is "magic". It made me want to believe in fairies and unicorns from back when I was really small and it was a wonderful and liberating feeling. But...the sheer amount of stress, competition, elitism, and most importantly inter-legion Siege politics was so damaging that as emotional as this music still makes me, I still haven't found myself deciding to come back.. from 6.0-.8, my legion which I was vice of was starting to get tied up in those PvP politics as we were climbing the ranks. Thanks to the disgusting new pay-to-win practices (might as well have ditched "f2p" in its advertising at that point) the community became savage, too competitive, and most disastrously it pressured a lot of players into using hacking methods to win in both PvP and PvE.. saw players running through the siege walls with my own eyes. I didn't have much of an income to put some cash into this game so progressively, participating and directing sieges while trying to maximize my gear with all the free-player determination and will I had against the elites began to feel like pushing a boulder up a hill. I did my best to stay optimistic and encouraging for as long as possible when legion morale was starting to really rapidly drop. The legion got infiltrated and hacked a few times. Near the end I thought to myself "what am I doing? I'm not having fun here... for goodness sake I should be getting paid for the amount of labor I'm putting into this game only to make a fraction of a gram of progress... people got really mean. Finally i made the hard choice to quit and uninstall that game for the sake of my own mental health... I'd really like to come back, especially after hearing news from my friend a year ago that NC cleaned up their act a little but the only thing holding me back is the memory of all that emotional stress and overencumbance that I put onto myself during my last days. Aion was really a very special game to me...but now when I think of it or considering downloading it again, the only thing that comes back to me is that constant stress and emotional fatigue. I hope that I will one day come back to that game and play it with the same magical feeling that it gave me before the 6.x updates. The world of Atreia did great wonders for me when I needed an escape the most. I want to go back home and actually feel at home like before.

Remembers me of all the fun we had as Xforms just trolling the alliances, that wanted to enter eternal bastion/ Steel wall bastion, or the massive PvP fights just to defend the garrison. Some of these were close to the raids xD with over 120 players and multiple guardian generals just because of the instance. Man I really miss those times. I´ll always remember Aion!

​@@Konayo_ I can't speak of its peak, as I wasn't that active during the 2.0 - 4.0 era, I mostly played during 4.8 - 5.0 period, and that felt amazing as well. The true downhill began showing itself from there on out. The decision to remove Katalam and such was bad, but I felt everything added up until 5.0 was fantastic. Had some of the best time in Aion in Nosra.
