My girlfriend and I played this server currently suffer from your power because we asmo, we appear in your video in the first part, my character is bombonita (ranger) and my girlfriend is Dulcedeleche (cleric). You are one of the few who is not afraid to zerg and that must be respected. My congratulations for the beautiful video. I use qweasd for movement, 1-6 for the skills in the first row, alt1-5 for the skills in the 2nd row, ~ for remove shock, alt+~ for strengthen wings, and literally everything else is bound to my Razer Naga -- I highly recommend buying one if you're serious about improving your gameplay, it was the best purchase I have ever made. I also have the Razer Anansi keyboard, which has extra modifier buttons below the spacebar that go well with the Naga. I have something like 40 keybinds on my mouse.

I decided to take a non- extendable because of the stats. However my range is way too short then... Do you use an extendable or non-extendable Pole? P.S. Ur video is really good! It drops from a 12 man instance called Dragon Lord's Refuge off of the final boss Tiamat. I think the instance was added to the game in 3.7, but I'm not entirely sure.

And not only is extendability good for chasing a kiting target, it gives you the ability to kite other melee classes that don't have the luxury of 7m attack range. In a pvp encounter, avoiding damage is just as important as dishing it out, and compared to other classes glads lack means of avoiding damage--they are usually forced to just tank everything. Glads with eternal spears already hit like trucks, so I think sacrificing just a little bit of damage for the extra utility is well worth it.

I sometimes use two different strategies versus SM. One is to cover all of my important buffs (UD, SW, Charge) with others (4 scrolls, potion, antishock, AoA, etc) so they can't get stripped off. The other is to use 0 important buffs until you see them waste a strip, and then use buffs the moment you need them. Other than that, it is mainly about getting in close asap and knocking them down so they can't get their full rotation off.

I believe 550 is one of the soft crit caps. As far as I know, this is how crit works; the soft caps are: 1% chance per 10 crit up to 440, then 0.5% chance per 10 crit up to 550, then 0.25% per chance per 10 crit up to 660. There may be more soft caps after that, I'm not sure, but the %-per-crit would start to drop off too much after 660 for it to be worth stacking more. Is this what you were asking about, or something else?

I have wrathful strike as the secondary chain skill in the Ferocious chain because I like to see its cooldown at all times. And I think the skill you're referring to is Armor of Attrition, which heals me for 100 and reflects 70 damage back each time I am attacked for 15 seconds

I recommend rushing to level 65 and doing the bloodmark dailies/weeklies to get that gear. Unfortunately there aren't any new options for extendables unless you already had the one from 3.0, so the bloodmark polearm is the best you can do in such short time. Gladiators aren't terrible, but are definitely difficult to succeed with solo. They shine in group PvP, however, so I would recommend finding 1-3 friends, one being a cleric, to roam around with and I think you'll have a much better time.

I'm sure you can go on just about any Aion forum and find debates on whether extendability is worth sacrificing the stats for. Personally, I think the attack range far outweighs the damage/stats you sacrifice, it is loads easier to stick to moving targets without having godlike reflexes and 0 ping, even the ones that know not to kite in a straight line but to shake you off by moving unpredictably.

I think MR/Crit is a good build if you have a strong non-extendable to make up for the lost stats, it helps to resist some of the slows, binds, and godstones that often mess you up when fighting a group of people. Without MR, you basically have to focus on killing the classes that threaten you as quickly as possible while kiting the others around as best you can. Just because I win some 1v4s in this video though doesn't mean I win them a lot, I probably lose them 90% of the time :P

I think from some update there is no more soft cap. There is just crit cap which is 50% ( 500 crit strike vs 0 strike resist user ) and 50% is max. You can't get more than 50% chance even if you have 1k crit strike. But ppls have more crit strike bcz of strike resist. But i dont remember since which update this is working.

hey, why do u have dual wielding and sharp strike? :s isnt it better to get ankle snare and one other dmg stigma? i dont think that sharp strike is that good to waste 2 stigma slots for (because of advanced dual wielding)

I use the same stigmas, except I take out Exhausting Wave for Spin Block. My stats with the parry set are ~900 crit and ~3650 parry buffed with food/scroll and slaughter. For the magic suppression set, there isn't really a number to aim for, you should just go as high as possible. If you are using the bloodmark gear, I think you can still have decent acc/crit while using every ancient slot for magic suppression. If you can afford 2 sets, bloodmark is better as parry, though, and 60a2 for msupp.

It's worth it! People use Tendon Slice instead of ankle snare, also sharp strike is a pretty hard hitting skill on a short cd

Hey uhiwi Why youre using 2 stigma slots for sharp strike? Isnt it much more profitable to take ankle snare (which you do not have) for ranged chars, who want to kite the f*** out of you? And the other slot i.e. for shattering wave or earthquake? (Even while solo running all time) I also thought of whirling strike, because you could lower distance easily. However 3 slots for this skill are too damn high and would take the place of more efficient skills..

Often times SMs will try to remove shock your first knockdown and use Backdraft or the remove shock fear; if they do you can immediately use aerial lockdown when the RS buff disappears and it should be an easy win after that. Use Strengthen Wings as soon as you are slowed/rooted, but also if you predict you are going to be double-debuffed and silenced so that have a chance to resist the root after. Use GHP on shackle/body root. That's about all I can think of at the moment. Good luck :P

I have Seismic Wave bound because it costs way less mana than Absorbing Fury, I use it in PvE sometimes to conserve mana. 1000 crit is to negate the maximum ~450 strike resist players can have on retail servers, such that I still have 550 crit against them (~49.5% crit chance) 2700 accuracy is to negate the evasion of sins/rangers who can achieve 2400-2600 evasion with Dodging (ranger) or Evasive Boost (sin) while I have Berserking up (-200 accuracy for me)

I haven't played too much in 4.0, but I am trying out a crit/parry set right now with the new bloodmark armor (parry ancient stones). It seems to be pretty OP against melee and in group PvP, since you don't sacrifice a lot of msupp for it and you trade for high survivability against melee. Otherwise, I think msupp ancient manstones are your best choice, especially with the 2 new magic classes introduced this patch, because you can get enough crit+acc using just the regular manastone slots.

I think greatswords can be good, especially if you're shooting for a higher accuracy build. The trade-off is damage/crit vs attack speed/accuracy. I've personally always preferred the higher damage of polearms, and I've gotten so used to the weaving patterns and animations of polearms that I think using a greatsword might throw me off a little. I think both could perform equally well, though, it just comes down to preference

I tried to use the same, but when I try to go 1v4 I get often killed by covered godstone procs/silence/lockdowns/roots etc.. So is full Magic resist manastones good for a gladiator ? for resist more godstones and silences etc..

I'm sure you're playing full keyboard, but why can't we see any keebinds on your skills in the game like "R" or "E" ? You can't see any keybinds on my skillbar because in the keybinding options I only use the 2nd column whilst leaving the 1st column empty. Only the 1st column keybinds display on the skillbar. Having a mouse with lots of buttons is IMO a necessity if you want to go full keybinding. I know people that can do without it, but it makes playing a lot more comfortable and you are capable of slightly more since you are able to do two actions at once using both hands. I use a Razer Naga mouse combined with a Razer Anansi keyboard. Any keyboard works, but the Anansi has a couple extra modifier buttons just below the spacebar that multiply the number of easily accessible keybinds you can use. Essentially all my consumables, buffs, and longer cooldown skills are bound to my mouse buttons. The keyboard is mostly for movement QWEASD and my most commonly used attack skills bound to 1 through 6. Sit down and plan your keybinds carefully; it's like the single most important thing you can do to improve your gameplay. Make sure you are able to freely move your character as well as the camera during ANY action that can be done while moving. The camera is the most important part, you should literally never have to stop controlling it to perform any other action that might be done whilst in combat. If "slide-shotting" is something that benefits your class, make sure all (practical) slide-shotable skills are bound so you can comfortably press forward, jump, and the keybind all at the same time. It might take hours to map it all out and find space for everything, but it's worth it. Hope this helps [:

Sry for asking, just saw ur screenshot of ur EQ. Ure using an Extendable. However for example the mytical pole (think it drops in Rentus?!) has got up to 601 dmg . Thats 70 more Damage than ur pole has! Is the Extendable feature worth it?

I prefer sharp strike because it is a hard-hitting quick-animation attack on a short cooldown. Because I am solo a lot, I use all the HP absorption stigmas, i.e. Exhausting Wave and Absorbing Fury, because in long fights they give you some additional survivability. I think these stigmas go further in longer fights than say Piercing rupture would And my keybinds are pretty simple, I use 1-6 and alt+1-alt+6 for my main attacks and kd skills, and virtually everything else is bound to my Razer Naga

In terms of 4.0, the new classes Bard and Gunner are both very obviously strong. Bards are kind of just jacks of all trades, and Gunner burst is ridiculous. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to me like anything stands out clear above the rest in the new patch. In terms of soloing, you will probably have a better time on Sorc/SM/Bard due to CC potential, or a Sin or Ranger due to stealth and escape potential. In group, I think everything does well as long as you have a cleric/chanter etc supporting it.

Uhiwi, what are your system specs? does it perform well at sieges? I mean I'm normal around the world map but whenever I'm in a tia siege my fps will drop to around 12 - 15 fps @1080p and that's with default graphics engine and not even maxed out, and in Rancora around 20 - 25 fps. thanks.

I would say Kahrun is probably a little "worse" than the other servers because it's only a year old and has more newer players on it, however it's definitely the most active NA server for PvP. This is especially true if you're Elyos like me because all other servers are Elyos dominated and the Eye is dead 80% of the time. The fact that Kahrun is a more world-wide server also means that the Eye is active almost 24/7 due to time zone differences.

In my experience, relying on debuffs (AS, EQW) in 3.0 doesn't work well with the high base MR people have from 60a2 armor as well as many people stacking MR on top of that. I think you can make up for not having as many roots/slows if you have an extendable and good movement, too. It was also convenient having dual wield equipped 24/7 because I use it for forts and PvE. And whirling strike has a super clunky animation, it doesn't really close any distance on moving targets, so nobody uses it.

My OS and Fraps are installed to a solid state drive (SSD), and Aion is installed to a HDD. I record to SSD because it has faster write speed, and when my SSD gets full I transfer the files to my HDD. I'm not an expert on this and when learning how to record I was confused by this myself, but I think the only thing that matters is that SSDs have faster write speed and you should record to the SSD for that reason. It doesn't matter what drives things are installed on. Don't take my word though :P

Radeon HD 6970 GPU, AMD FX-8150 8-core Processor, 16GB RAM. It's a decent setup, I run the game at 60fps on HQ engine, however I do have fps lag during siege, dropping to maybe 25-30fps, so I typically just shift+F12 (hide player models) for big sieges and I can get back to 50-60fps that way.
