Out on the farm trying to help the farmer as best I can with many problem rats which are causing damage and causing a nuisance around the farm yard.
This regular farm that I shoot at doesn't usually have a lot of rats, but the last several visits over the Winter months have produced some relatively big numbers, and tonight was no exception.
We are now entering Summer so the days are long and so I was managing to see several rats before darkness.

Awesome shooting mate. Great video. That one at 8:00 looks like you took his skull off. I like that you leave the 'not so good' shots in there, it shows the honesty and how to recover from a bad shot. Great job mate! 👍👍

Thanks mate. Yeah the one at 8:00 was a tough rat. I like to keep the bad shots in, I get a little frustrated with other channels where they only ever show perfect (long range) shots with zero misses. We all know who we are talking about. I try to show more reality than trying to sell a product. Glad you're enjoying the channel.

What I've noticed is that there is absolutely NO MOVEMENT when you pull the trigger... WOW! So you must have like no resistance to pulling it. And using the mil marks two below center on the close targets... very cool.

The rifle is a UK air rifle limit of no more than 12ft/lb which has very low recoil (hardly any) and is excellent for close range targets generally under 40 yards.

Great shooting. People that complain about this, just have never dealt with these disease carrying little bastards in there home, walls, attic, etc. I have. Keep up the valuable service you are providing. The one dragging the dead rat away, will 'eat' it. They're cannibals, as well. I hope this will change people's minds about this, also. Love it...👍

Yes it's always good to explain and show when things go wrong sometimes. I got a little tired of KZbin videos only showing perfect shots, so I try to show a more real aspect of hunting.

I would love to come on one of your night ratting sessions. Watching your ratting videos is making me want to get some ratting done. At the moment all the farms near me already have people to shoot the rats. Just hoping to have one call me to say they need someone.

This makes me wonder about buying an NV setup. At the moment, I can only do daylight, which isn't too bad, but wanting to get bigger bags. I think NV is the only way to go.

Yeah NV is definitely the way to go, you will get bigger bags for sure. Next step after that is a thermal spotter, that is a real game changer.

Great watch mate , is that the red dot laser range finder for day use if so do u have the red dot centre of the cross hairs for a more accurate distance reading cheers

No this doesn't have the red dot, I only use it for night time when I can see the laser and makes judging the distance much easier as night time through a scope is hard to judge.

Hi buddy just wondering the laser rangefinder your using can you adjust the laser so it’s online with your cross hairs so you can use during the day? As I know the laser isn’t visible during the day. I’m wanting to purchase pard 007 but trying to find a rangefinder that can be used with it both day and night. Thanks.

Hi, yes the laser is fully adjustable. I purposely have slightly to the side.

I zero at a relatively close range, 15 yards. After 15 yards the pellet is still rising slightly, so if I aim at something at 25 yards it will be firing slightly high. At 32 yards the pellet has now come back down and has travelled through my zero point again. I hope this makes sense.

Glad you enjoyed. As for the rats I offer to pick them up but the farmer tells me to leave them and he will sort them in the morning. 🤷‍♂️

@@richardjones9280 No I don't get paid for doing it. In the UK it's pretty much you do land owners a favour by shooting the vermin/pests and in return you get somewhere to shoot your rifles/guns. Sometimes I get cakes or a few beers as a thank you. Because I don't get paid I've added affiliate links in my video description, so if you click the link and buy something from that link I get a small amount of commission. I probably make about £15 every 3 months, better than nothing.
