My 2003 suburban LT does not have a replaceable filter. Just checked and there is no bolt to remove the filter cover.

GM Bulletin: Starting in the 2003 model year, the passenger compartment air filter is no longer available as a factory option. With the redesigned HVAC case, the opening for the filter cavity has been molded over.

The 2003 Chevy Tahoe does not have a cabin air filter.... Also you only need to take out 2 of the 3 bolts. The shroud will be loose enough to come down.

i asked if it was possible to get parts from a pre 2003 installed, but the dash is way too different for it to work. if you have a 2003 or later, you are stuck with the dirty air

Thought the Cabin filter might be clogged as my fan does not blow very well, however, I have a 2003 Suburban Z71 and no filter compartment. Thanks for the Video, even Chilton manual does not say certain models don’t have cabin filter.

i have a 2003 tahoe and it won't blow out hot air in the winter or cold air in the summer, in the rear of the tahoe but the front vents on the dash works fine, the rear vents blow air its just cold air in the winter and hot air in the summer, any ideas of what is needed?

There is no cabin air filter on my 2003 Silverado ... GM redesigned the HVAC housing to exclude those from 2003 and up.

I have a 2003 Yukon XL Denali, and I do not have this access door, as mentioned many times below. I have some sort of sensor near, and when I took it out, I could get my camera up there to take a pic. I show a filter that's very dirty with leaves in it. How the hell do I get to it and clean it out?

Great video and I was able to do exactly as reviewed on my 2000 Tahoe. However now my Re-circulation button flashes and does not engage. Is there a reset that must also be done when changing the filters?

+Brian Auden No, they are unrelated. The flashing recirc light is an indication that the door is stuck or the actuator is bad.

O.K. Here it is for anybody looking to replace there Cabin Air Filter on there 2005 GMC Yukon. Every site has one to sell, Every Manufacture makes one for your 2005 GMC Yukon. Very confusing locating the correct one before starting the project. So, This is what I have learned. There is NO CABIN AIR FILTER on the 2005 GMC Yukon. That's it !!!!!!!

On a chance, I tried this on my 2003 Avalanche. No dice! There is no "clip" to take out. The kick panel is the same except that it takes a 7mm socket, not a 5.5mm. Autozone says they carry a filter for this truck, but I sure can't find out where I would put it!

GM stopped doing them on these trucks somewhere in the mid 2000s. Some people scream at me that is was in 2005 or 2004.5 or 2002. I have heard a bunch of different claims but I haven't seen any concrete evidence when they stopped making them. Thanks for watching Spencer!

Even if I turn my temperature gauge to hot, but my drivers side works fine. even my defrost on the passenger side just blows cold. +misti davidson Passenger side blend door actuator is not stroking for some reason; bad actuator, broken linkage, or stuck door.

I took the actuator out and did it manually the back is blowing cold front blowing warm could it be the climate control gauges

There are several actuators that control the temp from front to back are you sure you have the right actuator selected? It is rare that the gauges are the problem but it has happened.

John C my 2004 blows on constant high. Even while truck is OFF! Seems my control module gets wet and shorted out. Changed it and still the same , so I have to plug and unplug the thing when really needed. Any advice?

Blower motor resistor causes this scenario. That's why it is at full speed/high, resistor has failed.Easy fix!

+2CarPros No, company said 2004 up to 2006 cabin filter and fuel filter all became integrated with their units, so cabin filter become 1 unit with the AC cluster, and file filter became inside the tank along with the fuel pump, bad call

Okay for my 03 Yukon Denali xl. I see people have posted no air filter in the cabin, but going to a local part store they pull up a cabin air filter for the vehicle. The design on the passenger side looks identical to the one used in this vehicle. Is there anyone who has for sure checked to see if their is a cabin air filter for this type of vehicle?

They stopped making air cabin filter for this vehicle somewhere in 2003 so some of them have it and some don't. Sorry about that.

So you have run across one of the great questions of our time. Some where around the time when your tahoe was made they stopped putting air cabin filters in the trucks. I have no idea why and every GM expert I talk to has a different answer for me. If you can't find yours it may not have one. Thanks for watching!

+Louis Mindes It is true a couple comments before yours someone posted how in certain years GM stopped using an air cabin filter. I'm not sure if it was an upgrade or not but my 2012 Silverado doesn't have one and the new body styles I believe do. Thanks GM.

Ok... i took my 2003 tahoe kick panel out and I can't find any cover on the heater box that is removable for filters??? It all seems to be one unit moulded plastic, checked over and over and cant find any removable are under the heater box what so ever????? what now?

+Neo Anderson The a/c controller is programmed to pull "fresh" air from outside the cabin and run the a/c whenever you have the defroster on. This is fine if your heater core is warmed up and you have the hot/cold control to set to `hot` because the air gets (cooled and therefore dried by the a/c condenser, then) heated by the heater core for delivery to the defroster vents. : Perhaps your blend door is not working or the heater core is not getting hot.

My '03 Tahoe doesn't seem to have a filter, which I found out after removing the evaporator core. No air filter is stupid. Then the evaporator acts like a filter and gets clogged with dirt and debris!

My 2003 Suburban has a one-piece molded housing where you show a removable door. Does that mean that my Suburban air filters are full of trash and I can't change that? Surely there is some answer to a filthy AC distribution system besides a new car.

I'm in the same boat. Mine doesn't look like this at all. I have a 2004 chevy silverado 1500. I see nowhere where anything is removable in this area. Let me know if you come up with a solution and I will do the same. I don't believe it's as simple as "chevy did away with it".

Wrong.. 2003 and 2004 is the ONLY ones you have to go through the out side dash from the windshield.. Change your dam title!

@@2carpros The title says 2000-2003 .. 2003/2004 you have to cut the bottom plastic out. Or go through the out side dash. There is NOT a option from the bottom dash. No door on 2003/2004. 05 they brought it back. There is a Filter in there however.. I own 2003. There is no door flap option.
