First, I would apply the grease in any ring/o-ring before installing it, and also the manual states to use 1ml of oil in the can and then 1ml after installing the air can assembly. Just my 2 cents.

you literally oriented the larger oreo seals and spacers opposite of what it was when you opened it. they have an orientation and taper for a reason lol

It's a little thin, there's way more friction in a shock so it needs grease that can deal with it

Hi just curious why you have to take out the mounting hardware? Is it possible to do the service without removing as I haven’t got a vice or anything to use.

Because the can will not fit over the lower hardware

You can push the mounting hardware out fairly easy sometimes with just your fingers, but also a large pair of channel locks will work you can get a pair for 20 or 30$ at any hardware store.

Leave the shock mounted to the bike frame if no vice available

You skipped steps compared to the rockshox guide. If i follow this to a tee, Id miss out on replacing multiple seals that are included in the service kit. Appreciate the effort but it only left me confused.

removing aircan that way could be dangerous! Worth a rag through eyelet. not right for all SD. Important to note the orientation of the 2 air piston glide rings, thick and thin.

just marketing, no need to replace seals. just clean them up and put grease on them and you're good to go.

Well, my mechanic said, need a 50 hrs service kit, I assumed its also apply to all. Not included the labor fee, the days for the mechanic to do it since a lot of bikes in the line were came first. I was thinking to go back to hardtail. Hays
