I have watched quite a few videos on this topic seeing I just got a compressor and yours is the quietest I have see so far. Great Job. I just now have to figure out how to drain it after each use as specified.

As a professional Cameraman I have to say this is the best video I’ve seen on Utube. The music isn’t obtrusive it fades down so we can hear the dialogue. I’m extremely impressed by the project and quality 🍻

I think this is the best video on the topic of soundproof compressor enclosures, really helped me in my current situation of having my first compressor that is just way too loud to be used in my apartment ^^

Awesome video! I am building one for my workshop this weekend, this is the best design I have seen so far! The only changes I will do is put a external drain. Also a filter on the intake fan so the dust does not kill it over time. Thank you for the video keep up the great production on theses videos i know it is not easy doing it in 2 languages! subscribed!!

Hello Noe, thanks for this video! It’s seven years on - how did that soundproof box stand the test of time?
@SkyRiver14 жыл бұрын
Nice, I am going to build one too. I have a few friends that build recording studios. They say the the most important aspect of soundproofing is isolated mass. The more mass the better, and it must be isolated as much as possible by the use of discontinuous concrete slabs (in building construction) or rubber contact points etc. I think your box would be far quieter if it had dual walls with the space in between them filled with sand and much more robust rubber padding at the foot of the legs. In addition to what you already have of course. Oh, and a muffler on the intake side of the compressor would do wonders all by itself.
@grzechuwart78848 жыл бұрын
Would be perfect if it have a drainage output through the bottom. Anyway, great project :).

great box, nice and quiet. Me I would have put some nice rubber caster's and handle's to make it portable. It need's a drain and, for the wire's I would staple a wire twist. In taking many stereo speakers apart, that is how they hold the wire's. It makes it easier to service a shorted wire. Zip tie's dry out and get brittle with heat and crack. just a few suggestions.

Great effort. wud be good to get a dB value b4 and after and subtract them to measure your box isolation

I want to build a box like this but I have concerns about the heat buildup. How long have you ran the compressor for without overheating?
@scottsmith66589 жыл бұрын
Fantastic job and especially great job on the video! I need to make something like this too, only I don't have the woodworking tools and large workspace that you do. One thing I noticed is that you didn't mention how you were going to drain the tank, and you screwed the lid on. How are you planning on bleeding the water out of the tank? If you don't do that every few days, you've basically got a time bomb in a box...

+Scott Smith See 11:40
@mrtechnophile34837 жыл бұрын
Lid is removable (11:40) but making it hinged with a latch makes it more likely that you will actually do it! Or, adding an extension to the tank drain. It should be drained whenever you use it / daily to help keep the tank from rusting.

Very good. Congratulation of Brazil.

The air flow system is definetly something people who (re)build this should improve upon. Sufficient box height to suck out emmissive heat at a higher point. Maybe a bulkier fan outwards (the inward fan doesn't really have a function - comps suck with 200 l/min or 3 l/s - dont think a (12 V) fan is supportive here; and to add that if you suck out the air on one side you create low pressure in the chamber which is compensated through the inward duct). Instead of a inward fan, I would rather think of a particle filter inwards - shops tend to have lots of them floatin around. The inward air duct as close as possible to the comps cylinder/dust filter. The ducts (in/out) should be nested to reduce the noise. But thanks for the input.
@FragBenitez5 жыл бұрын
What does it mean for the ducts to be nested? Thanks for your comment, I will build a compressor box for sound dampening soon, and following your advices.

@KK101558 жыл бұрын
Hi nice video, what about the air intake, how does it suck air if the area is closed inside? is it sucking air through the fan? thanks!
@rikujkoivisto6 жыл бұрын
I think, that you may have a little problem, when you need to drain your tank... Second problem comes with heat. That small fan cannot cool the kompressor block.. All in all, you did very good job! bigger fan, (and out let). Air must go through from side to other side. Then drain from bottom to out side. These 2 little fix, will make it super!! Nice job dude....!! (By the way, did you find your cat??) ; )

Depends on your use-case. For me I just mostly need it for finish/brad nailing on projects and blowing a little dust off a workbench.

What kind of insulation foam is that? Can someone post a link anytime I try to Google this stuff I never can find it
@SMee676 жыл бұрын
Ticking time bomb if you don't drain the tank after every use. That would be a pain unscrewing the lid every time you use it. Great build though, other than the drainage issue. Made a huge difference to the d/b 👍

a nice box, very good job! also the video is fun to watch. just missing one little detail, what about the condensed water inside the compressors tank? ;)
@NoeHervas9 жыл бұрын
ju cu Thanks for the comment. To drain the condesed water I need to remove the lid, put a container under the compressor and open the valve tank, then very carefully take out the container and close the lid. I know it's a pain in the ass but I didn't came out with any better ;)
@scottsmith66589 жыл бұрын
+Noe Hervas There is some kind of automatic drain valve I've heard people mention; I don't know what it's called (mine is currently manual too). You might look into that, and run the drain hose through another hole in the bottom of the enclosure.
@atomizer26658 жыл бұрын
+Noe Hervas I replaced the tank drain fitting with a 1/8" male thread to 6mm pushfit elbow. Route the pipe outside the enclosure and fit a pushfit tap so you can drain it whenever you like. My compressor stands on a solid floor with a bottomless enclosure over it, just barely audable at 5ft and completely silent at 10ft.

@NoeHervas9 жыл бұрын
Mohamed Behery I didn't made any measurements, but you can have a low volume conversation in front of it when is on with no problem at all, and it takes the same time to fill up the tank inside the box due to the ventilation fans
