Thank you David for posting this. My problem proved to be the batteries inside the thermostat - they were completely drained and this in the middle of July! Replaced the batteries and my system is back on line. Again, thank you for taking the time to upload this video.

Mr jones, what's your take on dye packs to find a leak? Do you see a effect in the future with the mixture of refrigerant and dye such as crystallization or anything like that?

I am not a fan, if it is a small leak I use leak stop, I have a video on how it works

on a programmable thermostat batteries save the pre-set temperature settings during a power outage. Not programmable? no batteries needed.

A/C doesn't run. When I pull my safe-t switch out, the a/c runs. So I know I need to get my lines unclogged. But how long can I run it with the Safe-t plug unpplugged? Also, though it runs it seems to be less efficient. Does that make sense? Hurricane Irma is about here and I can't get anyone out here for a few days. What is the best way for me to proceed? It may be academic when when city electricity goes out, but meanwhile.... Thanks.
@samquinn64276 жыл бұрын
Why not just remove the float like I did. If line does clog you will see a little water dripping from it so know it is time to unclog the line

There's a small amount of water in my safety switch pipe but when I soak it up, a little more comes in. It's it supposed to be bone dry or can there be a little bit of water in there? My AC is working, just wondering about that water.
@amerphartriple73206 жыл бұрын
Mine has a little water BUT I have a completely saturate carpet and massive puddles on the other side of the wall on the bathroom floor, and the cubby that holds the a/c filter is saturated and FILLED with water, evidenced by me pressing down on the floor of it and seeing the water pooling! It's got mold in there now. I HAVE A SAFE-T SWITCH, I pulled it out, it moves up and down, so I can't figure out why the switch did not come to my rescue and shut the a/c system down so I would KNOW I HAD A PROBLEM!! It has been about 2 months since we changed out the 3-month filter, so it happened sometime between then and now, and I'm flooded despite a Safe-t switch. I now have to figure out how to take the bottom panel off with all those pipes coming out of it (same as this video) and how on earth I'm supposed to work to see if the pan hole is clogged if removing the panel won't even let me put it down somewhere else so I can see what I'm doing!
