Update; install procedure success. The install video i tried to apply was the inclusion of 6" piece of 1/2" pvc pipe (sprinkler) ***with threads at one end and a cap attached. the cap is larger than the pipe and the bushing is to be slid down the pipe towards the cap where is can go no further. The lip of the bushing where the c clip is to be installed will face the front of the car, the pipe fed into the carrier from the rear using a tow string run through the middle of the pvc and bound in the cap. A great tool to guide it all is the spring loaded multi claw parts grabber on a flexible shaft - 2 foot plus length. Must drill a hole through the pvc pipe 4'' from the bushing location when on the pipe up against the cap; you'll run a bolt through your front shifter install hole to lock the pvc/bushing arrangement (which is pressed up against the backside of the carrier mount). Putting the clip on is the bitch. i tried the pre expanded c clip tool design and there''s no support to slip it onto the bushing instead i made a 2' long sleeve that will install over the pvc pipe with an outside diameter slightly larger that the bushing flange, preinstalled the c clip already opened on the very edge, installed the sleeve on the pvc pipe after is was hanging in carrier and before locking in the front via the shiftier bolt hole install, pushed my sleeve up against bushing, kept pressure on sleeve via lockable pliers on pvc at butt of sleeve, used screw drivers @3:00 and 9:00, against c clip and drove it home. The c clip will not want to cooperate regardless there's no slot it rests on, maybe more cooperative if not a metal sleeve. ** six inches too long, reduced to 1/2 " longer than drilled hole location.

Well i tried their installation procedure which is not what this video covers and i even enhanced the parts used a bit to assist and still haven't succeeded. There's a competing unit that simply snaps in utilizing clips after compressing round bushing. One more hour and i'll throw the $30 bushing in the garbage or modify it somehow. Go the snap in version save the hassle.

This is very difficult to install 😮the bushes. No explosion on how to install this bushing. Do not be fooled by this video.

The original style isn't that bad to replace. I did it solo as one of the first repairs I did to my baja bug. A wire hanger bent up as a shift rod support helped a ton
