Air dry clay is a fun craft and piping air dry clay slip is easy and you must have a try. I love air dry clay and experimenting with it, and today we have some fun ideas and projects. Air dry clay that has dried out a bit or gone a bit hard can be used to make the air dry clay slip too...resourceful!

My fingers are getting more and more numb and rigid, so I won’t be able to have that kind of control. But I learned something important: I can keep slip! I was making new one every time!🥴Thank you Sarah, your pieces are amazing.

I love experimenting too. I had success piping slip into a very intricate flower mold that I couldn’t make work with the usual method of just pressing the clay into it and peeling back the mold. Even allowing it to fully dry in the mold resulted in the edges snapping off when I went to take it out. I had already been experimenting with mixing in PVA glue to make stronger pieces, so I made some thicker slip, then added quite a bit of glue, and piped the mixture into the mold. The second attempt, after adding more glue to my mix, was a success, and resulted in a casting that was flexible enough to successfully demold. I probably ended up adding glue at about a 1:4 ratio, perhaps even a bit more glue, but I didn’t write it down, so I’m just going from memory. It did take almost 2 days to fully dry. Hopefully this will help somebody who is having the same issue.

amazing, pva glue is good stuff, got to love it, so many uses. Thank you for adding this, that's fab. The slip in my molds did dry well eventually so i will also be playing more with it, happy crafting and have a lovely weekend 😊 Sarah
