Love all your comparisons. When I tea dye I lay a table cloth on the kitchen table. Dip the page, then lay a plastic stencil on the wet paper, then spritz it with a spray bottle of tea or instant coffee and it leave it to dry. The stencils leave marks and its pretty cool. I have also put food coloring in a bottle with a small amount of water and spritzed color over the stencil. Fun to see what you get.

Thanks for the oven drying info. I just made a batch of avocado dyed paper. Usually I would lay papers out to dry, but decided to try oven drying which you made sound so easy, & it is. It requires a it more attention [thank goodness for timers on kitchen stoves], but I do like the results. I plan to leave the stacks to thoroughly dry overnight then press the papers under piles of books for a few days to flatten.

Great idea James! I only use the oven method if i need papers done in a hurry and it's winter time, bc as you say it does require more attention for sure. the oven does make them wavey and they do need a little weight to flatten them, sounds like you're all over it, happy creating cheers Donna ☆🦋

Thank you for the tutorial on tea dying paper. I don’t know if you have the distress ink pads but if you do you could use the expresso color or something similar and sponge down the cut edge with it. I thought ironing the paper would flatten but not totally. So I thought maybe a little steam would really flatten it. It’s so crinkly does it chip off or tear more easily now? Also have you tried maybe 65 pd cardstock? So intriguing lol. Thanks again for sharing

thanks for your tips Dottie, I have done the edges with distress ink pads yes it does a lovely job and i only use it for 1 page I don't do this method for several pages though :-) I also don't like ironing my papers so i prefer the air dry method they turn out nice and flat for me now. it doesn't chip or tear any different to un stained paper, however it does tear easy when it's wet :-) i use 85gsm always, it's been lovely comparing techniques ♥︎♡☆🦋 hugs Donna
