Air Force BMT Week Breakdown: 7th Week (Graduation Week!)

Thanks so much for making these videos! They were kind of my saving grace when my husband was in Basic. It was so great to have more than just a 30 second video vaguely referencing what the trainees are doing that week, usually as told by an MTI. These videos gave a much better description and were from the perspective of someone who had actually gone through as a trainee, which was great. My only wish is that I'd found them sooner! Thanks again for the awesome videos!! p.s. I showed these to my husband over graduation weekend, and he said you guys were just about spot on about a typical week of training in BMT! Thanks again for making those 8.5 weeks a lot easier!

My son just graduated from BMT, he earned the Marksman Ribbon. He was stoked, we were incredibly proud of him. He hit 23 out of 25. What makes it so special is that he has never had any training with weapons.

I knew my family was not able to attend my graduation. There was a group of 6 of us without family that went to San Antonio. We went to the USO, the river walk, Planet Hollywoood and a wax museum.

In basic you wear the flight cap my buddy is wearing. You have to. Once in tech school you can choose to purchase the cap

So for no real reason i watched all the videos. Now i want to join the Air Force. Been long enough to allow me to go to BMT, might be fun to compare it to Marine Corps recruit training. Wonder if they still let prior service people do the try one think in the Air Guard. If so it wouldn't be too much after BMT. For what it's worth the Air Force ranks are far more confusing than the Marine ranks. And when it is hard to tell, that's on purpose. They look for uniforms that have will obscure it the most. And if you'd have called me air you'd have got the same treatment. Telling particular rank can be difficult but it is easy to tell stuff isn't shining on a collar. If you picked the wrong rank I'd laugh while I said something shitty to you. Sir would tick me off.

He already did. The rule is it cannot cover more than 25% of a body part. Of course that is subject to change at any time at the whim of the folks in charge. And honestly if you aren't going to do it until months after you have been in the Air Force you can rest assured you'll know the process by then.

You're considered active and will get paid as active until after you graduate tech school.
