Hey Airman Martin great video! I leave in less than a month, but I think after watching you answer one of these questions I'm in some trouble. So a question answered you stated it is better to train for speed rather than distance.... well I've been preparing since like July and have worked my way for running 1.5 miles to 3.5 miles 4-5 times a week. I've only mocked a PT test on my high school track a few times but I ran it in around 12:10-12:20.... do you think I'm in some trouble? Also I know the standards for bmt is 33 push-ups (which isnt and issue), 42 sit-ups and 11:57 run time. I barely even get to 42 right now so that sorta worries me. Thanks!

William Martin you're not in trouble. You may be a little behind at basic but chances are you'll improve at basic. Why? You'll be eating clean and PTing every day. 99% of people end up doing better at the end as opposed to the beginning (that percentage being those who are worried about PT that is) I think you'll be fine if you got the motivation!

In the ASVAB book it says the AFQT is the most important subject that define if you can enter the airforce. So should I only focus on those 4 subjects? & what if I do well on those & not the other subjects, will it affect my whole ASVAB score?

Im commenting for anyone else who is wondering: the higher you score on the AFQT section, the more jobs become available to you. I would dedicate 90%-100% of your studying time towards the afqt section.

medical, medical, that field is always hiring and the skills transfer to the civilian side. i was medical for five years and its better then sweating outside on the flight line. A/C, white uniforms, and nurses as far as the eyes can see. learn your medical job, get your skill level up to civilian standards and move on. it worked for me. they use me and i used them. lol

Hey, I know this is a late comment but I’m 15 really interested and going into the Air Force planning on it when I graduate high school which isn’t that long ..but I heard there’s certain height and weight requirements?? Online it said the weight for 5’6 is 170 pounds and I sure don’t weigh that much which I think is the maximum weight for that height or is there a minimum weight too???. I only weight 118-120 so will I be able to get in being I’m not that big in weight the height isn’t a problem I’m worried about the weight . Respond when you get this ASAP please

Lmao I know this is a year ago but I still wanted to answer in case there’s more people who come across your question. There is in fact a minimum and also a maximum weight in relation to your height. If you’re under/over weight, your recruiter will most likely tell you to gain more or lose more weight. They also have a chart of height/weight requirements so you can just ask them!Hope this helped!

On Tech School Washouts.. You have to consider a few things. Sometimes they are wash-backs to redo a block. Then there is wash-outs. Depending on the times (current force draw downs) you may not wash out to another AFSC, you may end up washing out of service. Why you were doing basic and techschool they continue to inprocess new people and promise them jobs. ALWAYS the needs of the Air Force trumps your wants. IF they choose to wash you to another AFSC chances are they will wash you to another AFSC that is being instructed at that base due to cost of moving you. Security Forces are instructed at Lackland, 1C1x1 (Air Traffic Controller) is at Keesler, which has several Comm AFSC's being instructed there to.

I was in Army ROTC (just dropped out to join the Air Force) I went in as a Freshman and quit at the end of my Sophomore year and I'm about to go into my Junior year of college now. Yeah stupid decision to quit halfway through but I found new interests in the Air Force! Anyways, we had plenty of kids join as Juniors. The program just accepts you and then the summer before they make you go to a program (for Army it was in Georgia) and put you through some intensive shit to catch you up with everybody else!

Miguel Garcia long story short, you can join but the summer before you go back to school they'll send you to a school to catch you up with your respective class! I don't know how it's done for Air Force though. I'm going to assume it's similar.

well start showing the characteristics of a military individual. Get up early, go workout, take pride in what you do, walk tall, stand by what you say. Then make progress on it, talk to recruiters (the academy is VERY VERY hard to get into I hope you know this) show your interest and make it known. that's the best way for them to take you seriously is when you give them no other choice but to show them that you are

I know it's hard, it's one of my motivators to do the best I can in school. But I don't think my parents are even aware that I want to go military, I've never really been a military individual but I can work on that. Do you think I should mention this to them now, or wait a couple of years till I'm 18-19? I've always had great respect for the AF but I know they won't be at all keen on my decision, since I'm a woman and "women aren't supposed to do that". But going through my 20s with student debt, not even sure if I will get a job I like and finally having to marry someone before I'm 30 doesn't sound the best and I really want to join the Air Force. Leaving with them pissed at me isn't a nice thing either though.

Hana Sophia yes maybe it's not nice but at some point it becomes your life and not theirs. You can't live your life pleasing them. Let them know now, if they don't believe you then fine. But as time goes and you're ready to leave and they're like "we didn't think you'd do it" well you gave them plenty of chances. Don't live your life to please them

Congrats on the channel growth man! From what I understand, you can't pick your job or even wait for a job. I got a 93 on my ASVAB, qualified for every single job in the Air Force, and still got assigned Open Electrical. I was told I can't wait for another job period. But hell, at this point I don't. I leave in just a few weeks, and even though I'm a bit uneasy about the whole job situation, I'm glad I'm getting in earlier than expected. My whole Air Force process from Start to BMT will only have been 4 months long. But I really need to start doing that sprint/speed training. I've only been doing some running for time so far.

Daydream Beatmakers I really couldn't tell you man. I don't know much about SPEC OPS and battlefield airman in basic. If you made your case to your recruiter I'm sure they could get your out ASAP presuming you qualify to be a TACP that is. Standards are very high
