Much better chance to get in with STEM degree than not having STEM degree. There is generally 2 boards for rated board and non rated boards per year. Rated board you have to be less than 30, Non-Rated board you have to be less than 35. Make sure you have a strong AFOQT score, really strong above others that apply, good Letter of Recommendation, community service, and anything leadership related (BTZ, awards, etc...) With that you give yourself a much stronger join to get in and become an officer. The officer side is not easy by any stretch of the imagination and much more added responsibility. From watching some of your videos I can see you would be ready to take on the challenge though. Best of luck

I'm in the same position now except I'm army. I have my masters and get asked this question all the time sometimes I wish I went straight to officer school

Yes, but I'm going to commission through the master in social work program

I just took my AFOQT today, i probably wont make the next nonrated board for Jan 16 from what my recruiter was saying. If i don't do well though I will definitely consider enlisting and forego taking it a 2nd time.

If you already had your degree when you went to BMT, did you graduate with a higher rank? I have heard that sometimes people enlisting with a bachelors can be a E-4 after BMT? Is this true?

yes. you are an E-1 throughout BMT and then, once you graduate, you are automatically an E-3. No one graduates as an E-4.
