If you take the skin off right before you use it. Your taking all the red/orange flavoring away.....RIGHT?

When you skin them are you not removing all the flavour?
@cookiesfishingcapers9299Ай бұрын
@steve5333 Thanks for your comment, Steve👍 Great question👍 From my experience, its never made a difference as the flavour seeps through the skin. (The colour will seep through, too)👍 At times, I've air fried them with the skins on and without. I've always fished the chick peas with the skin off, as my catch rate has always been affected by them Hope this helps Steve 👍👍👍

Another great film cookie, well done! Can I ask whats your most successful flavour so far? I’ve read scopex used to be an old favourite on chick peas?
@cookiesfishingcapers9299 Жыл бұрын
It's strange you've said that because I will be doing a video very soon. The flavour I'm going to use is Scopex🙂 Previously, I've used powder flavours for my chick peas, Curry, Paprika, and chilli, and they've all done very well. I'm going to experiment by dying the chick peas in different colours and testing them out as well. 👍

Many thanks for that short but sweet demo. I see you are taking the skins of after you have cooked them, there for loosing a lot of the flavour which is on the skins. When you have taken the skins of where ever that is, would you then re dust them with what ever the flavour is you have on them?

Thanks for comment Ray👍👍 Absolutely their is no harm in redusting them with your chosen flavouring if anything it will give them a boost 👍👍👍😀

I haven't tried them yet but I am about to air fry two sets of different flavours (Turmeric and Paprika). One thing I did do though is put the chick peas under a strong flow of water first and that stripped off all the skins leaving them ready to be flavoured up. I hope to use them in a couple of days time so wish me luck.

I am soaking mine in water that is a inch above them in a pot that I dissolved 2 cups cane sugar into and added the chicks in while the water was still warm.

Hi cookie im currently sat on the river stour in dorset i cooked up some chick peas before i left and am trying them out my questions are 1 are the chick supposed to be hard or a little soft and do you think it will be ok to freeze what i dont use ?
@cookiesfishingcapers9299 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Clive Hurdle 👍 They shouldn't be too hard.Soft enough for your baiting needle to go in but not soft enough for them to split. On the freezing situation I think you'll be fine to freeze just make sure that you dry them out before using again maybe add some more flavouring. You can put them in fridge for a couple of weeks and they will be fine just add a bit of flavouring from time to time just so that they don't dampen. Not sure which Chick Peas your using from my experience the Tesco Nutty tin seem to be the best👍 Tight Lines on the Stour 😀👍 If you need any further information please Message me anytime.👍

Is this better than the microwave?

Thanks for your comment Mark👍 To be honest not much in it but I suppose with it being fried it just hardens up a little better 👍
