I'm from the UK and have made these more times than I can count, but never in the foodi. Which I am going to try now :). One trick I have learned is if you put flour on the egg, before the sausagemeat it helps it stick to the egg better, Cant wait to try this. Thankyou.

An interesting twist on the original recipe, I certainly would add the spices but I will not add any sugar or syrup as I prefer savoury flavours.

Before learning to boil eggs in the pressure cooker from Louise, I never made egg salad. I was one of those ducks that bought egg salad in the store. But soft boiled eggs is much more of a craft. I suggest just taking the Foodie up to pressure for 0 minutes and then measuring the post pressure time until you know exactly what you want and release the pressure then. I love doing sausage in the Foodie because it’s kind of a mess trying to do any quantity in a pan or a griddle. I use the double racks and can do about a pound at a time. Now I’ve got a reason to do the sausage with the eggs. Thanks Louise. I just need some Scotch now.

Oh my, I'm sorry to say this was a fail for me, but I'm going to try again. The two minute cook time on my Cosori air fryer did not cook the egg enough. I managed to get them into another 4 minutes of boiling water and then I only ended up with one that I was able to form into a scotch egg. Don't worry, I'm not discouraged. I've always wanted to make these. I'll try again tomorrow. Thank you for a great video and inspiration

I found that dusting the egg with a little flour or cornstarch will help the sausage adhere and not be so wobbly on the egg.

The standard is for a soft boiled egg. Of course, you can decide for yourself, but i find hard boild yokes to be like trying to choak down a rubber ball.

Hi Louise love your recipes. I would love to try and scotch eggs. When you say heat on broil I haven't got the broil on my ninja Foodi xx
@madmarty55204 жыл бұрын
broil is grill
@TheSaltedPepper4 жыл бұрын
It's probably called grill if you are in the UK or if you have the 5qt without the broil function, just preheat on your highest AC setting.

Yes, brown sugar is white sugar with molasses and maple sugar is made from maple syrup.

If they are not cut open, I reheated in the basket on 375F for 5-7 minutes. If they are cut open, I would wrap them in foil first.

yokes in a scotch egg aren't hard, that would be over cooked. they should be soft but not runny. i haven't made them in a long time, now i want some.
@TheSaltedPepper4 жыл бұрын
Some people prefer them hard, but I like them runny. I agree that soft is usually the way they are served. I hope you enjoy your Scotch eggs!

4:50 a lot of work when ya can just use your hands like you have been to handle the meat. And "yeah, I'll just press it around a little more" making the gadget obsolete. I hate cleaning up. I also don't use the term "hate" lightly. Edit: 14:07 "Easier to just use your hands..." lmao. What I said

I thought the purpose of an air fryer was to eliminate the use of oil or fats? My air fryer instructions even prohibit the use of oils for it's warranty reasons. Why not just deep fry after all this? I don't see the point anymore for a healthier option. Edit: I should sue for 20 minutes wasted time looking at this crap
@TheSaltedPepper3 жыл бұрын
LOL! There is not an air fryer, that I know of, on the market that prohibits the use of oil when spritzed on food. What you can't do is fill the basket with oil and try to deep fry. As far as suing for time you CHOSE to spend on YT, well, that's hysterical. Thanks for the laugh!
