I can't mess with that tumbled leather look on the 16's. While the actual quality of the leather may be better, the overall look of the '13 is much better and look more like the OG's

The OG 1985 Bred 1's had smooth stiff leather. They didn't do tumbled back then. That's why I like the 2008 release of this shoe.

i have both 13 &16 pairs and i love both, when everybody complained about the quality JB gave us a much nicer leather on the 2016 pair and people still found something to complain about with the slightly darker red. smh some ppl are just never satisfied

Both dope . Just don't like the white under the lace holes , white behind tongue , and white insole . Can get dirty fast and you see the white showing under lace holes

The 2013 is way more like the og. Leather on the OG were stiffer than a block of wood. These new joints are soft and flimsy and tumbled...cool but far from a OG look and feel.

I like the look of the 2013 more but...the leather quality is much better on the 2016. The stiff leather on the 2013 allows for huge creases on the front toe box. It hurts my heart to see these creases after light wear.

Creases usually suck but if there's a shoe made to be creased, it would be the 1's. They crease gracefully and look good IMO

iAmTMCII I understand the character but, my creases look like the Grand Canyon especially on the black toes. The SBB v1 and Chicago 1s started the upgraded leather and I wear those heavily and wayyyyy less creasing.

2013 just looks better in my opinion. The darker red and the super tumbled leather makes them look old. Jordans weren't meant for comfort so I wouldn't mind the lesser quality 2013. The smoothness is nice.

Nothing here is all of a sudden lol. You have your reasons. I don't buy sneakers because it looks more like the original version. I prefer the 2013 just like a good amount of people do because it's not overly wrinkly and is a better shade of red in my opinion. If quality is the reason I have to buy shoes, I wouldn't even bring up Jordans in the first place.

Material wise the 2016 pair is better, but the 2013s look better and are more sleek. I wouldn't say the material on the toebox matters on the 1s tbh cause 1s look better after they are creased either way

Quick question. I got both deadstock, the 2013 as well as the 2016 black/red but can't decide which one I should wear. Of course, the leather on the 2016 looks better in my opinion, but flightclub lists a higher price for the 2013. So is the 2013 more worth compared to the 2016?

The leather quality on 13s is actually better than 16s. Tumble leather is not equivalent to better leather quality.
