Hell yeah, G. The 14s. The 5s. The 4s. The 9s. The 6s. Gang violence was through the roof when they dropped. You couldn’t wear them shits in certain areas of the city. My uncle remember when the 5s dropped back in 1990. Those things were all over the news constantly. Sports Illustrated dedicated a whole magazine cover story for it. “You’re Shoes or Your Life” was the title of it. I still have that issue in my storage unit. I was 3 at the time my moms bought it for me - and the shoes 😆. Man. What a fucking time.

The Jordan 14s is the one and only shoe that my father ever bought me that was chosen by me. There were $150 dollars ; which was a lot of money for shoes back then. He agreed to buy them for me if I got a 4.0 in my grades and paid half ($75) via my allowance. I was 15 years old at the time and I was so excited for the shoes. They ran small so they were a bit uncomfortable and I was still exited to wear them. The first time I wore them the Jumpman crest on the side of one of the shoes fell off. I was devastated, I tried to exchange them since they were obviously defective from factory. They had completely ran out of stock. I am now 41 and I still have the shoes. I took incredible good care of them. I cleaned them after every use and it still upsets me every time I have to see the side of the shoe with the missing Jumpman.

Definitely 1 of the best looking Jordan’s and there’s so much you can do with the construction of this model in terms of color ways. The last shots were all black with just a gold Ferrari Jumpman emblem on the outer collar. Then a little red on the tip of the tongue on the back with the 23 and then extending the holographic red carbon fiber plate up the side is the main eye catching feature of MJs last shoe as a Bull. The 11,12,13 & 14 are all so different in terms of design from 1 to the next I believe Tinker Hatfields creativity as an artist was peaking during those years.

2:40 Current retros of the 14 starting with the Laney colorway this year have an updated insole where it would actually allow proper airflow from that 'exhaust' in the inner area of the midsole to function properly for breathability. Back then, the insoles kinda blocked that hole. Thank Weartesters for that info.

I have a pair of the Air Jordan RIP Hamilton Hamilton 14s. You might as well call me the candy canes but they call them the rip Hamilton's for a reason I reckon. It was due to him wearing the candy cane 14s in his route to a national championship at UConn in the mid-90s. Very comfortable shoe.
