I’m an American Lordd of the Rings geek who’s been to NZ twice. I’m very familiar with these 12 hour 747 flights from the US to Middle Earth.

+AdwikblockMCnoteblocks I attempted to fly the last scheduled ANZ 747 flight out of Australia which was supposed to be Sydney-Auckland, but they swapped it with a 787-9 at the last minute!

How did they manage to fit in the passengers of a 747 to 787?? Must have been an empty flight!

Love the 747. You always feel this plane is in control on takeoff.

The main reason you are not supposed to use a camera during take-off or landing is that, in the event of an emergency, it could become a projectile, or could distract you, impeding your own or other peoples means of escape. You can argue the logic/validity of this either way, but the simple fact is that you must comply with the instructions of the crew, and regulations of the carrier. Air NZ requires you must have your camera turned off and stowed during take-off or landing.

@TheRazmovskii Have a look around youtube and you will find even the pilots dont believe that, since there is THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of videos filmed directly from the cockpit of takeoffs and landings and everything inbetween. On some airlines there is no restriction on using cameras during takeoff and landing, why is that then?

Have you seen the YT vid where the Chinese dude is being dragged down the aisle, punched over and thrown off the plane. united AL, USA I think, overbooked flight and they needed a volunteer to get off to allow staff to get to another plane. So rightly or wrongly it may be best to comply with cabin crew- for your own safety. It appears that they bite!

@allwhites08813 жыл бұрын
@Metrotrainsmelbourne Actually, the A380 is way better tbh. It is very comfortable and won't even get turburlence during the flight. Even though it looks fat, it's actually better to have it that way. Though the only bad thing is during check-in and waiting for your baggage to come out.
@AussieFlyer14 жыл бұрын
@sangar60 is it?
@ninninin65612 жыл бұрын
It's not true that you don't get turbulence on the A380 - we had massive turbulences during a Singapore-Frankfurt flight with Singapore Airlines. Also, the seats in the A380 are sooooooooo uncomfortable!!! It's just more people and thus more crowded, that's all there is to say to the A380. Now, if you were rich enough to fly business or first, that's a whole different story of course!!!

I realise I’m 8 years late but when did air nz replace their Auckland to la route with the 777? I went on it years ago and I’m not sure which plane I was on because I was too young to care about aviation. Thanks.

shouldnt you be watching the safety video and not outside the window! also now electronic devices are to be turned on during take off and landing or unless advised by a crew member... i am part of the air new zealand cabin crew and i definetly wasn't on that flight because i make sure EVERYONE has their electronic devices OFF during take off and landing because it is a VERY DANGEROUS safety hazard!

the A380 is too fat and ugly. the 747-800 is far better and keeps the classic style of the 747-400! who wants to wait for ages for the luggage and fly with 500 people. not me!
