Air New Zealand end Heathrow - Los Angeles service from 21st March ‘20. Last chance viewing.

@@HeathrowAircraft It was very bittersweet. I really didn't want to leave London. 8 Australians were denied boarding because they didn't have a US passport, and the US had closed the boarder.

I'm just curious to know why Air New Zealand had to end the London route but not Qantas? Was it really losing money? Or was it just because, Kiwis who have flown Air New Zealand to London in the past have switched to other airlines like Emirates?

Have flown with Air New Zealand LAX- Auckland and Auckland-Shanghai great airline and the Kiwis are great people thanks for sharing.

Wonder who will take the slot when ANZ leaves. To Los Angeles from Heathrow there are daily services with AA, BA, VA & UA and still ANZ. Id like to see a daily service with Delta to LA

I flew to London UK and back to Auckland New Zealand on the Air New Zealand Boeing 777 ER300 on the same year.

@@HeathrowAircraft Yes sad that the Air New Zealand Boeing 777's not flying to London again and they not flying out of New Zealand because of Covid 19 and lot of the Air New Zealand Boeing 777 cabin crew lost their jobs very sad.

Did the flight back in 1989, Christmas 89-1990. Was my first International flight out of New Zealand, then it was 747-400

They're in damage control due to the virus situation and expected to become a mostly domestic airline and take years to rebuild. In NZ, they've just cut 95% of their timetable.

The NZ1/NZ2 AKL/LAX/LHR services is now in the history books never to return. NZ1/NZ2 will be used for the new AKL/JFK from late 2021, 12 months later than planned due to COVID19.
