Hey Luke, it can be frustrating trying to find those bloody crays. I've dived King Reef a lot and I often find that crays in general like the sand and rubble, you don't come across many on the hard patches of the reef when inshore. It is worthwhile finding those isolated bommies where there is nothing else around, make sure you take your proper gun with you as well because there will most likely be one or two trout and they don't like to give you a second chance.

Gday Luke a tip with your fish - when you catch something, grab a bucket of seawater as well. then when you clean the fish and you need to rinse it, rinse it in the seawater, NOT tapwater. freshwater washes the flavour away, best to use seawater, and even then, keep the washing to a minimum

Great vid Luke! Those Stripey's are one of our favourite eating especially as sashimi. Grab some of those little seaweed squares from the supermarket and wrap a small piece of Sashimi in it then dip it in some soy sauce with fresh chilli in it. Yum!

@@lukefalzon We are just north of Mission Beach in Bingil Bay and very familiar with the reef in your vid. Maybe have a look down this way. Nice boat ramp at Clump Pt. with Dunk, Bedarra and a number of other islands close by. Just need to check out the green zones.

Easiest tip: bring a torch, even during daytime. believe me, those holes might look empty, but as soon as you shine a light into them, it's a different story.

hey luke, love the vid. you are doing everything correct looking for crays. you should practicing holding your breath in a pool or when your out spearfishing, in water is better because of the divers reflex. also its been rainy recently that's why the water is soo dirty its gonna get worse in a couple of days cus of the storm. where abouts do you you live gordi? love to see you out one the reef on the holidays keep pumping out new vids.

Actually mate, I've been in hospital. I had horrible stomach pain. It started off in the middle of my chest so I got an ambulance thinking it might be my heart. Luckily it wasn't. The ER doctors ruled out heart and lung problems and sent me home. I had only been home for 3 hours when I had a temperature of 39 and the pain got much worse, this time under my ribs on the right-hand side. The doctors thought it was my gall bladder so I had more scans and tests and they found that I now had blood in my urine and my kidney tests and my other blood tests were all abnormal. So they took me to the operating theatre. They did key hole surgery and removed my gall bladder which they said was badly infected and was enlarged and had black spots all over it which meant the tissue was dying. Luckily they did the surgery before it leaked which is really bad. I've been home about 3 weeks now and feeling 100%. Sorry for the long answer. Your videos were really helpful in passing the time, so thanks for helping cheer me up mate.

As parents, teaching young children to eat fish properly, and my child’s an adult that has lived on eating fish her whole life and still loves it, please teach Aria to chew her fish up really good, as their could be bones, no matter how good you fillet , their may just be a bone! My daughter always to this day will chew her fish well, it’s life long , my mother said it to me and I even still do it, please ❤
