This man is very humble. He did everything he absolutely could, and to the best of his ability, in an extremely dire situation. He deserves more credit than he gives himself.

Jason Harris true, but I think most people in this situation feel as if they didn't do enough. Sully has said that about himself too.

All of these decisions and communications were made in 3 minutes with 155 lives at stake. I think I now understand why the average salary for air traffic controllers is $140,000!

Sully has said from day one he was not the only hero that fateful day....Patrick was another

The sound of your voice gives me instant recall of your calm and brilliant coordination of controllers and pilot...OMG you are brilliant!! My heart goes out to each time you have a memory of that day..♥

I just watched an interview with Patrick. He jokes, that he never didn't take the Public Speaking course in school because he was terrified of public speaking. He now says maybe that was a mistake at the time, not knowing that his first actually public speaking event was this moment, before congress. He said it was the most intimidating setting that it was surreal. For someone who skipped those classes and says he's terrified of it... what an amazing job he did !!

Wow... The controller probably acted like he was the pilot flying on 1549, keeping his emotions in check and his professionalism at maximum.

Not fair that he was required to give a statement before leaving that day but Sully dodged that requirement for days until he got his PR campaign in full swing and decided what his story was going to be. Kudos to this guy for giving some well deserved credit to the airplane’s designers. Next time he should feign illness, go to the hospital, and talk to a lawyer first.
