Lots of money to keep the bird flying, money to keep the engines spinning, to keep the plane insured, and the parts maintained. I hope Jerry flies paying passengers to get profit.

@@thatguyalex2835 Double (or triple) the maintenance and insurance costs for a Part 135 operation--and then he would have to comply with TBO intervals. HUGE costs on a Part 135 operation.

Really been enjoying Your content Jerry > recently bumped into Your Channel about 2 weeks back > well done with adding the classic movie quotes/audio... fantastic creativity & unique from what I've seen across the YT Pilot Community. Born in Oak & have lived in the East Bay all my almost 6 Decades so I really enjoy the in & outbound scenery. I'm abt 3 miles West of KLVK ...almost a straight shot off the runway > bet You've flown right over me a few times😉 Liven vicariously through Channels like Yours > started Ground School yrs ago.....once managed a Valet Staff at a Health Club/Sports Resort next to KSQL & a few were flt Instructors on their way to commercial gigs > but unfortunately I wasn't able to follow through back in the 90's with Ground.

Hello Air Wagner from Sydney Australia. It was interesting (personally, my thinking is 'wow') hearing you outline the purchase price of a Cessna 421C with the budget to keep the plane airworthy in U.S In my knowledge toolbox today is the 375hp GTS-520. Video highlights * Terminology/Jaron * PIC in VFR responsible for traffic seperation. * Situational awareness with busy ATC * All important checklist and GUMPS Thanks for the ride! 🌏🇦🇺

Jerry, you made me feel as if I was flying. I thank you very much for that. Second 421 flight of the day watched here on You Tube. It is a great Cessna. You must have money to be flying this aircraft. I am envious. I can't even get my driver's license. Loss of mobility on my own is hard to take. I'd not even be legal for one of the sport utility planes. So this was great. Closest I'll get.

I just happen to run across your video yesterday it was about the one where you was comparing the 414 to the 421 and you flew into Auburn. I used to live in acampo California years ago and took my training out of Stockton California. When I seen you fly into Auburn it brought back memories because that was one of the spots that we flew into plus back in 93 I was looking at an aircraft that was up for sale there. The plane I was looking at what I forget the year but it was a piper Comanche 260 and it only had 3 hours on the engine

Back in the early 70's the tool company I worked for had to use a EDM machine to remove a broken bolt from a 421 engine cylinder. I could not believe the size of that cylinder compared to any 450 cubic inch car engine.. I then understood then cost of that engine and they haven't got any cheaper.

Jerry, What is the Useful Load (Max T/O subtract Basic Empty Weight)? And, how much better could the useful load be if you had a "lighten-up program". By that, I mean if you removed some of the dead weight in the cabin and dead wiring behind the panel.

We talked about these noise restrictions nowadays. I look at this way if you didn't want the noise you shouldn't have bought by the airport. Just like the old Sacramento Airport they moved the airport due to people complaining of noise and put it out side of town and paid The Residence at the time. More and more people bought and moved out in that area now and they were complaining about the noise and wanted compensation. I don't believe in that. You knew what you were buying into just like the propane tanks in Elk Grove that were put in a 1970. Back in 2000 when the terrorists were going to take them out and people were complaining and said they should move those tanks because they had bought property and built houses up around the area. They knew those tanks were there before they bought the property. I look at it as a bunch of yuppies and that might be putting it politely

After an annual, if something were to happen caused by the annual, is the mechanic on the hook or is that just the inherent risks of an annual and you lick your wounds and move on?

@@Jerry.Wagner Yep. A bad mechanic or annual sounds like people who go and fix the air conditioner or heater in the home (or fix a car), only to ruin something... Luckily, that hasn't happened to my parents or I. By the way, can you teach us how to read the ground radar altimeter? It has an orange triangle and gradations on the dial, and that's all I know. Lol...

Awesome video as usual! My mindset on any cabin class twin is, if you have to budget to afford it, you can’t afford it. These are complex and expensive (relatively) airplanes to own and fly. Is the 421 much more than the 414 was to own and fly? I once heard a mechanic say that you might as well fly a C90 if you can afford a 421…of course he actually owned neither so who is he to say?
@Jerry.Wagner3 жыл бұрын
I don't find this 421 any more expensive than the 414 and only slightly more expensive that my C-320
