Aira Compact Jam ft S-1 Tweak Synth

I feel it's made for really juicy basslines, so I want to show everyone else to inspire exploration. It doesn't have always be acid on a 303. *takes cover* 😄 Even though I wasn't in the scene when the 303 was introduced, I feel I end up using it as it was originally intended.

Love it! One bit of advice though, see if you can filter out that noise. I had to buy some filters to handle it myself and ended up liking the mickxer from MyVolts the best for this purpose and it also is a decent little portable mixer.

Klevgrand has a plug-in that would take care of that hiss without loss of audio fidelity

Very nice! In what order is the midi connected? Like out on T8 to in on J6 and then out to S1?

@@UnitE808 Thanks for the reply. Hope you don't mind me asking, but as a newbie what would be the advantage of connecting via midi as opposed to via sync if I'm just interested in syncing timing? Wouldn't midi also change other things? Thanks again!

Very nice! Can I ask, are the TRS MIDI cables type A or type B?

They are just trs audio cables. A basic aux cord will work, as long as its not ts mono. That's one of the beautiful things about it!

The new Roland gear runs on type A midi if you're going to convert to 5-pin.

is it possible for S-1 to do everything the J-6 does? i'm torn between the two

The S-1 feels like a full on synth while the J-6 acts more like a preset player. Nearly any function on the J-6 can be performed on the S-1, but the ease of using the chord sets and the style/variation options with the J-6 make it stand out. I personally use the J-6 to control the S-1 for arps.
