Yes. It’s a great way to add some layering. I’ll usually bounce that down to a looper track and then port it over to a drum pad.

In case I had a 4 bar loop, could be possible to copy 1 bar completely(any from 1 to the 4th)?.

You cannot copy just one measure or bar of a clip to paste elsewhere. You can copy the entire clip to a new slot then use first and last step to isolate the bar you want to have repeat.

@@felipefs106 I have! They are on another level, as they are full blown workstations for studio work. The MC line are groove boxes made for live jamming.

Thank you ! You did better than Roland itself, thx i have my ansewer (just not about 1 and 2, no fluent english and you went quick on it). I can’t understand qhy it isn’t a simple Vst integrated in daws rather than thos 3!! windows. Also that it is so weired and not standard for managing : basic new|save buttons instrument as kits as patterns, all in a clear managing window, as dor bank and presets with all vst. Btw.. Thanks again

If you setup the tone in Zenology Pro or on the 707, the 101 will play it. You cannot, however, set up the velocity ranges on the 101.

how can i import a sample folder f.e. a sample pack at once... I get import error when trying to import src folder. (made a ticket in roland, but no answer until now)

In the latest firmware, there’s a bug that does not allow you to import entire folders. I highly suggest not using this method anyway as sample management in the machine is poor at best.

Cool tutorial. Does the lfo work on every instrument? I tried setting it up with a closed hat but couldn't hear any change. Thanks. Mind you, I didn't do that ctrl+instrument knob lfo depth that you did.

It works on every instrument. You will need to either assign the knob or when you go into the instrument edit screen set the LFO depth there.

No. You will need an sd card. The only time I found it wasn’t necessary is when using the microsite. From there, it would transfer direct to machine.

Yes! Hold shift and press KIT. Keep holding Shift and scroll the value knob until the top category line on the screen says Ext In. Let go of shift and scroll to reverb send. Delay send is the parameter right after. Press Enter on either of these and use value knob to adjust amount. Holding shift while adjusting amount will cause the value to change in bigger increments.

So funny to see a mc101 in this kinda setup. Most the time when people have rack gear le that, I’ve mostly seen they also have some big expensive synths or rack mount synths. Cool setup for sure.

lol! I like to experiment with various compact configurations. I use 1 Track full of sequences grouped in quadrants on the pads in CLIP mode. Each quadrant is assigned to a voice in the eurorack. The Hermod acts as a liaison between the 101 midi output and the modular CV input. I play a sequence from the 101 while recording on the Hermod, and it then captures it as a loop and i stop the 101 clip right in time. It’s a really enjoyable way to play modular live.

I saw a video where someone touched their Tune knob, then controlled the parameters with the Value knob for more precision. However, when I try to do this, the screen just goes back to the main screen as soon as I touch Value. I have 2.0, but i think the video was 1.5. Was this feature removed, or is it something in my settings (factory other than display for power saving and initial pattern) ?

They also were most likely holding down a step. Holding a step allows you to set parameters on that step for the tune, decay, and control knobs. If you hold the step and slightly wiggle one of the knobs, it will jump to a signing of value of that parameter to that step. From there, you can use the value of to fine-tune, your adjustment.

Hey unit-e ! Hope all iss well? Could you help me out? On my TR8-S every time it goes back to scene “A” it triggers the master reverb alone, even with the reverb level set to Zero, also happens everytime I change kits, i have to move the reverb level knob to reset to zero, even if its already on zero..

Sounds like motion record has set a value to step 1 on Variation A. Hold the ON button for Motion Rec and turn the Reverb level knob to Zero

Bro I said it when I subscribe to this channel dang near at the start thank you for simple clear info. I need to wrap my head around the file swapping to make it fast for me....now if only you could make mv8800 seem as simple LOL...paired with a VS2480😂 I'm getting there!!!!....so I'll say this and ask for any feed back...I wanna send the 6 aux to the VS to send back into EXTin of tr8s..what's simple way to individuals fx of any or all 6 them have 6ch bus fx so ad it goes back into unit it will be insertFXd and/or bus FXd or duck one or both while live play....I mostly live play and just record/sample myself....still a novice with lots of thoughts not enough practical knowledge to do it fast .....keeping thoughts together while menu dive is tuff

Thank you for the kind words! Let me see if I can understand what you want and help. You are sending 6 assign outs to individual tracks on the VS and then back into the 8S ext in from the Master Out, or Aux A or B on the VS? If this is correct, then what is the purpose of the fx on the VS? EQ? Compression/limiting? Performance fx? It seems pretty straightforward as far as connection and routing. Only real issue is that you lose reverb and delay from the 8S on individual instruments.

Is it only 8 scenes, not 16 scenes like on RM1x? I ask because I usually make 4-8 1 bar fill patterns and the first 8 are main sections / choruses / verses etc

There are 128 scenes. Either 8 banks of 16 scenes per bank, or 16 banks and 8 scenes per bank. It all depends on the scene call type in your system settings.

You have to set the key and scale of your project in the project settings. This is something you decide when creating your song.

@@chriscopeman8820 Ah, I gotcha now. Only after loading the clip will you be able to tell. Shift and Clip will get you to clip edit. One of the tabs is Key.
