These are by far the best videos on airbrushing I've seen. For those who don't already know everything this is a great ground level introduction from someone who in my opinion is an expert painter. Great job!

Not bad info. What I used was a 32" flat screen " tube type " T.V. cabinet. I gutted out all elements of t.v and cut out a spot too mount a 110 cfm bathroom fan. I installed a light source and a bare bulb receptacle for speeding up dry time and is cut the time down by 1/2 hr. I also covered the face of tv with plexi so no dust can mess my paint. Total spent 150$ cn. The most important factor is cfm. rating. Most artticals mention 220 cfm. min. Mine is only 110 cfm. But works well as my vent line is only 1 1/2 ' long. It works great! Been useing it for 2 yrs now with no issues. Thanks for sharing.

After passing out priming the great unclean one with rattle cans in my wardrobe i decided a booth would be a good idea. I bought the standard fold away portable booth with LED's and i can use rattle cans at my desk without tripping out and falling over. Well worth investing in this piece of kit.

So would it be a better idea to use a spray booth in the south west area or outside since (especially in Arizona) it's just a boring clam day every day and fairly dry?

It's been 2 years since you posted this video, and I wanted to know if the burlap is still a suitable filter or if you're using a different alternative filter right now.

Hey Henry, What model is your fan and how does the back suck out the fumes? Thanks

i have a question, ive been working pretty much exclusively with lacquer paints (mr.color) and the fact that nobody wants me to airbrush indoors even with a spraybooth makes in annoying to deal with thinning paints as i go. so i was wondering could i just buy some badger 3/4 oz paint bottles and pre-thin my paints or is it better to just deal with the annoyance. P.S. should i use the expensive mr color thinner to clean my airbrush or should i use generic lacquer thinner? is leveling thinner better?

Where did you buy the honeycomb cardboard filter for $5? Do you suggest any alternatives? All the ones I found are pricey...

what are your thoughts on using lacquer paint (mr. color etc.) with a booth like this? are concerns about exposed motors in the fan igniting flammable paint warranted in your opinion?

***** Thanks, guess I'm overthinking it

I have one of the spray booth's that collapse for easy storage. I think I bought for about $80-$100 off amazon. I'm thinking of getting the Mr. Hobby Superbooth. You said your old spray booth worked fine so why did you replace it? What did you do with it?
@RacerGT49 жыл бұрын
***** Thanks for letting me know. I would probably stick with what I have now since the Superbooth is twice as expensive as the one I have.

Is it ok to paint if you don't have a spray booth because I do not have one
@marcusj177 жыл бұрын
as long as you paint outside then you don't have to worry about inhaling paint fumes and die but you should still wear a mask even when you're outside
@rainbowtofu54319 жыл бұрын
I'm a bit confused :( Doesn't the fan blow the fumes back towards you? :O

RainbowTofu That`s why you have it facing the other way.

Is a spray booth necessary ignore if paint in a garage with the garage door open all the way?
@swagdavis5937 жыл бұрын
***** ok
@TF23DayRespawn7 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, if you spray outside/in your garage, you could be more prone to air particles or dust that could land on your wet paint. Cars can drive by and dust can kick up. In doors doesn't have that much problem. Also temperature affects your paint so keep that in mind =)

3DayRespawn my garage is more of another room in a house. It is in my back yard so it is away from cars and no, cars do not go into it. so could I still paint there?
@TF23DayRespawn7 жыл бұрын
I guess you can, just be careful for the wind.

Is having a spraybooth really necessary? since I want to have a workstation without taking up much space and I travel around a lot
@xUsagiEffect9 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's not necessary if you're straight building but if you paint inside like he said in the video you're going to need on

If you are spraying any kind of Enamels or lacquers you have to use a squirrel cage fan. The window fan in the example does not have isolation from the flammable thinners used in enamel or lacquers. Serious explosive hazard in this setup if you are spraying anything other than acrylics.
@almia978 жыл бұрын
your fan blows towards you. your paint booth does the exact opposite of what one is supposed to do
@ricklander50308 жыл бұрын
+vegeta8259 is that why you face the fan blowing out the back so it sucks in the paint particles, including fumes?
