I lucked out Big Time with getting exactly that brush. I went to a local "Hobby" shop and looked into the clearance section. And there was one for a mark down of only $33.00. The ONLY issue that I found was that it didn't have a needle in it. So I bought it and disassembled it to discover that. After cleaning the brush, I went online and bought a needle. Little did I realize that THAT store also sold needles for only $11.00. So I bought 2. Got it home, reassembled the brush, and it has worked great for my model railroading since. And with the little amount that I had to pay to get it up and working, I was able to get almost EVERY accessory to buy for the brush...and it just barely cost more than a brand new brush. New cleaning kit, needle guard, cleaning tray, 32 oz of cleaner and more. I usually hate going into that company's stores, but I have to admit that really was one of the best "finds" I have every come across. Thanks for the video mate.

@AirbrushAsylum3 жыл бұрын
Yes all great brushes, in regards to the CM-C (they are fantastic but keep in mind they don’t have a solid lid on the colour cup) so you may wish to look at the CMC + instead which also has the mac valve, that said it is a little more pricey so the other option would be to use one of your other lids or buy a replacement if you like a fixed lid on your micron to avoid spillages 👍🏻🤔

After watching this video - which I wish I’d seen before buying the dreaded cheapo airbrush, I invested in the Eclipse and straight away the difference is like a hang glider and a Jumbo jet. The advice given here is absolutely spot on and after nearly 40 years away from the airbrush I have watched nearly all the videos from Airbrush Asylum and can’t praise them enough. I am now back practicing to get my hands in - I used a Badger 200 single action back in the day, but I like the double action brushes which give so much better control - once you get used to it of course, but the exercises and tutorials here are really great and I feel I’m getting the hang of things, if at a steady pace. Thanks to Airbrush Asylum for such a great series of videos - and sound advice!

I agree with your show and tell of the Eclipse, I have one. Another selling point I would like to add is the nozzle. That is the part the needle and paint go through last. It is a "big part" of the assembly and is easy to clean, see and find as compared to the Iwata HPC Plus or the Iwata Revolution where that part is like a "grain of rice" in size. Also the Badger Patriot is a good all round airbrush for beginners, for ease of use and parts cleaning. Cheers
@AirbrushAsylum3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment and that’s a great point , I plan on doing a full disassembly / reassembly video showcasing all the parts , but yes having the larger nozzle definitely makes it easier then losing one of the other tiny nozzles which are so expensive ! My advice is get the iwata cleaning mat well worth the investment 👍🏻

Nice informative review video upon the IWATA Eclipse HP-CS Airbrush. I'm not a professional Airbrusher, and I have no desire to become a professional airbrusher. I'm retired, so in retirement, and to keep myself busy, I do different things as hobbies. One of those hobbies is tinkering around with airbrushing as a personal home hobby. At the present time, I'm highly considering the IWATA HP-CS airbrush as my next upgrade. In that upgrade, I'm thinking about upgrading to an IWATA airbush as IWATA airbrushes are very good airbrushes. Not that Badger , Paasche, and Harder & Steenbeck aren't nice and great performing airbrushes as they are. A lot of professional Airbrusher's swear by those brands and I repect their opinions and their judgments. But because I'm not a professional airbrusher, and I am not having to earn my living at airbrushing, I'm just not willing to put out that kind of extra amount of monetary funds for those particular higher priced brands at this time. However, a lot of airbrusher's also swear by IWATA airbrushes as well (including many of those professional airbrushers). I have seen many videos upon airbrush reviews and comparisons. But those reviews and comparison test videos all seem to be upon cheep airbrushes compared to more expensive (or high priced), airbrushes. But none of those video's seem to perform a review and/or comparison test on any airbrush and how that particular airbrush would perform when using 3 (or more), different sized needles and nozzles. They alll seem to use only 1 sized needle and nozzle when doing their review and/or comparison, or they will do a review and comparison with more than one airbrush but each airbrush uses a different sized needle and nozzle. That's OK in itself, but it does not actually show what each airbrush itself is possibly capable of doing overall upon its own when using more than just one sized needle and nozzle. However, even in this review video of the IWATA Eclipse HP-CS airbrush it was not performed while using 3 different sized needles and nozzles. That is also OK in itself. But it still does not show what that IWATA Eclipse HP-CS could possibly do overall when it is used with 3 different sized needles and nozzles. But, to me, it would have been an even better review of the IWATA Eclipse HP-CS if it had been performed while using 3 different sized needles and nozzles. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think others besides myslef (including beginners), would like to see review and comparison tests of different airbrush brands and moddles and how they each perform when using more than just one sized needle and nozzle. Could you, yourself, (or anybody else for that matter), possibly produce such a review and/or comparison video using all IWATA airbrushes, including this IWATA Eclipse HP-CS airbrush but each time using 3 different needles and nozzles in each of those different IWATA airbrushes? - Or can each of the IWATA airbrushes be used with more than one sized needle and nozzle, and perform as great as when used with only one sized needle and nozzle? - Just asking. Anyway, "Thank You" for producing and sharing this great review video on the IWATTA Eclipse HP-CS airbrush.

You will be able to achieve finer detail with a 0.35mm and quicker coverage with a 0.5mm . It comes down to practice, you should be able to get a fine line out of pretty much any airbrush if you have your paint and psi mix right and you are skilled enough to achieve the fine lines 👍🏻

The locking nut holds the needle in place so that when you move your trigger back and forth it retracts the needle, to allow more paint to come out or only a little for finer spray . You need to make sure that this locking nut is re-tightened when you are finished cleaning your brush (mainly when flushing through the back) otherwise you will have paint in your cup and pull back on the trigger and nothing will happen !
