I just ordered my first air brush system. I want to apply paint to some old yard art as a first attempt. What kind of paint should I purchase that will stand up to the strong sunshine of Florida? Can water based paints be used on metal objects. Any advice would be appreciated.

Less stencil more freehand does it for me

Can I ask your advice? I have an Iwata Eclipse I just love. I accidentally used a q tip too aggressively, and some cotton got stuck down deep. I took it all apart, and cleaned every part. But when I re- assemble and spray, it just bubbles. Completely jammed. I'm soaking the nozzle now, so I hope that works. Any insights?

Damn fine piece of instruction, never realised about this way of use,but totally makes absolute sense. Gets rid of any paint in the nozzle and I take it prevent clogging issues too .

How the hell do you apply the crystal and not get the formula to separate like it was a waxed surface? I use wax and grease remover and tried alcohol. But when i apply the formula it immediately separates everywhere. Those areas will not crystal.

Fantastic painting! Thanks for sharing the process. Have you ever considered making some of your pieces that you do for the channel as shirts? I don’t know how difficult that might be, but if all you need is a good quality, high res photo of the painting to send to your shirt supplier, this would make a killer hoodie! Maybe with “Airbrush Asylum” on the sleeves, one word going up one sleeve and one word going down the other, maybe matching the font color to the magenta in the painting. That’d be sick!

The biggest negative is creates lines with overspray , seems center does not get enough volume in spray pattern.

What psi do you use when spraying, mine only has a maximum of 15psi and i dont think its enough

Im tempted to snag one of these guys on FB market for $100 but I mainly use an airbrush for priming, base coating, varnish, and chipping medium. I got a cheap Amazon one atm that came with a mini compressor for like $50 that claims to be 40psi... it be a nice upgrade from my cheap one... but I'd still use it for my usual tasks...

Hi Carsten. It’s amazing how the neon pops from a relatively simple technique. I follow an artist here on KZbin (Fatcapsprays) that does cartoon murals in a similar neon style using rattle cans. I think you might like to have a nosey at some of his work - it’s very vibrant😃
