I love watching the big birds execute high-G maneuvers, it's a real rush not like any other! Those A-319's are very agile, this was a great maneuver. The pilot could've accelerated even more and really shot up into the sky but this was pretty fantastic.

Nice ground effect there to gain speed after the plane lifted off below the stall speed. I'm amazed at the climb angle and the turn rate. It almost looks unreal.

those airbuses and even the boeing 737 are amazingly powerful and maneuverable. they are flown at about 40% capacity during normal operations. The 60% overhead is for safety. the plane has more than enough power /maneuverability to do things you wouldn't believe. I've seen the airbus they nicknames the Vomit Comet in action... pretty crazy stuff

they stress test the plane to make sure its all fine. My uncle used to do this. They would do all kinds of things to the plane to make sure it can handle sudden drops, heavy take off, sudden air push, etc... they have to be certified to fly in any weather or back to the dumpster.

Those who stated it's an airshow are 100% correct. You can see by the number of aircraft by the side of the runway. I've been on a British Airways BAC 1-11 displaying at Finningley Airshow in 1983 - 1 slow pass down the runway, gear & flaps down, tear drop procedure to head the opposite way down the runway, this time flaps & gear up. Accelerate, throttle back just before the crowd line, at the end nose up, power on and climb away. Fantastic feeling.

Dear chefadong, please note the engine round intake (737 is flattened at the bottom due to its lower ground clearance), the wing "fences" (737 has none or winglets), the nose (less "sharp" then the 737), tail design (737 has a longer base), landing gear doors (737 main landing gear has no doors), etc, etc.
@YagoobianMike13 жыл бұрын
You can see that pilot wasn't using flaps. He gained speed instead of aerodynamic lift, then he leveled flight to gain more speed.He had great reserve of it , so he could lift the plane more than if he had flaps which creates more resistance AD. 1.Sorry for my english, if I made a mistake 2. If you are a pilot or experienced in aeronautics please reply. I'm not a very experienced pilot, but I think that is the reason of that kind of take-off
@PilotMindset14 жыл бұрын
@t3avelos looks like a standard short field take off to me. The airplane can stay airborne at much lower speeds due to ground effect as long as it stays in ground effect, which is about a wing span or two above the ground, then, as it picks up speed, it does what it did. I sure hope there weren't any passengers in that plane.

@zeroturbulence Yes it is. What we have here is two parallel runways. The A319 takes off on the runway behind the cessnas. What causes the mind trick is that we see a runway in the foreground too, in front of the cessnas, but the 319 did not take off from that one. It took from the runway behind the cessnas.
@thomasclatter14 жыл бұрын
@jankockv ...yes it is, the aircraft takes off and maintains appr. 10m, gear up, increases speed and climbs very quickly to 10000ft...our military pilots of A319CJ had spoken about it in an interview few weeks ago.

Probably a couple of test pilots for the airline(Eurowings?) putting some "miles" on a new unit. They often try to test it in real world scenarios (stall, low speed stall, safety ceiling limit, etc.) to see how the plane and it's safety systems respond---hence the high G load from the aggresive take-off.

I have seen this kind of take off in Brunei when the pilot is testing the King's jet plane. It is being flown by a German fighter pilot as regular routine to make sure that the plane is running based on recommended number of hours.
@YagoobianMike13 жыл бұрын
That kind of take-off is quite normal. Fast take-off technique - is used when: 1.The runway is short and after the runway are obstacles (trees, building etc.) 2.Temperature is high - it is very important factor for the aviation. The higher temperature, the longer run. This is due to thin air.
@RH-ib7bg8 жыл бұрын

@mariobighammer69 that right there is a soft field takeoff (grassy/dirt/water runway) which is odd to do at that asphalt runway. there's also a short runway takeoff and a regular takeoff. so at least 3.

This is either part of a show routine or a rehearsal of it. Another possible explanation is what engineers call a "flight engine test" when the engine is fresh from an overhaul. In this case as soon as an engine completes all testbed and ground tests, such a flight is what follows to rigorously test the performance of the overhauled engine. At least this is the standard procedure in the air force. In any case this flight is DEFINITELY not only without passengers but also with minimal fuel load.
