Aircraft carier Essex - Support CV ??

Essex - American Tier X aircraft сarrier. The first Essex-class aircraft carriers were ordered as part of the Navy's expansion program of 1938. The decision to construct more ships in the series was made after the Pacific war had broken out. The Essex-class aircraft carriers were significant for several reasons. They were large and fast; had strong air defenses; could carry and launch a large air group rapidly; and, importantly, they were available in substantial numbers. Through a combination of these qualities, they played a pivotal role in the U.S. Navy's achievements in the Pacific during the final 2 years of World War II.

If they wanted a support class it would have been better for them to drop supplies (consumables, repair zones) instead of a smokescreen which is very situational.

as a Cv player i can say this was not an easy game: 2GL, jinan, meck and duncan. Any of those can destroy an entire squad in seconds. Now, With this been said, the player took the kamikaze way. In the first 5 minutes He decided to waste his planes to make almost no damage. No pre drop and almost no tactical use. It was a hard match, but player could have chosen a better strategy.

This cv is strong but ppl dont understand that is not a fucking malta or midway. The smoke can be gamebreaker and the improved fighters do the job.

Hove much in game dd`s give their smoke for teammates ? 1 per 20 games, mb if they in squad... Many gamebreakers from standard noob dd who stand in smoke and eat dildo torps...

i got question: all those planes are the "tatical plane" type, so... i dont need to worry about the reverse plane like others cv?

the torpedo-planes have to regen, the other 2 are on a timer.

So in 5th slot you can take squadron consumable modification 1 - +1 heal and smoke for planes, or concealment ...

I've completed the entire expanded Battle Pass and haven't received a single American Token, 2000 of which are necessary to get the Essex. The current Battle Pass gives Gold Spanish Tokens, which are worthless. I've opened a Bug Ticket but I don't expect any chance of getting the Essex without being forced to gamble $200US on the Random Bundles to get the necessary American Tokens. Thanks for nothing, WG, keep that nonsense for the Russians.

You would have to get the bundles anyways. You can only get a maximum of like 320 tokens from the pass.

The strength of these new CV's come in their support. I completely changed my game play to full support. My Yorktown rockets and bombers have 5 patrol and 3 smoke consumables. After the initial spotting run I start looking for friendly ships being focused and then go drop smoke and planes on them. I may not get the big damage and high XP games, but my teams love me. Fell short of getting the Essex unfortunately though.

its so badddd no tactical smoke is used, plane easily destroyed (the player attack on 3 CA, and 2 of them is GW). when attacking mekln with TB, the player dive too soon and caused TB is taking too much damage from undodge-able mekln's flak AA. and the player is often eating a lot of flaks

I wonder if they have realised the smoke screen is a big thing for griefers as they can smoke the enemy as well as allies

By far, the strongest tier X CV, it’s not even close. I would expect to see nerfs to come 3-4 months from now but we shall see. The tactical squadrons were intended to do light damage and support allies with smoke screens, but the problem is not only do they drop smoke, but they do a lot of damage, and all planes shot down don’t effect overall plane reserves making surface ships be at a massive disadvantage. Instead of a timer, these squadrons need a maximum number of uses(3-5). This would then make the captain have to utilize this planes in a more conservative manner. I guess WG didn’t learn anything from the iteration of Super carriers.

Why one class must be forcibly be support for others ? Why dd not be forcibly made support for team? They was in reality supports for bb`s, cruisers and cv... They must make some kind of dd`s who have guns with reload about 10-15 sec, torps with reload like in Kitakami - 5 min`s for 10-14 tubes of torps, and have hydro, smokes for team uses

Not a dangerous CV. In this battle a Midway or a Malta totally destroy enemy. Essex is very weak.
