This channel has some of the best, most comprehensive aircraft explanation videos I've seen. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for this. Finally a video that actually explains things clearly. I have grown tired of hour long videos that have a hard time explaining.....anything. All you are left with is a million empty words and no answers. So thank you again, Sir and keep up the good work.

Really well done, please do the same type of video for a tandem wing, having one forward wing and one rear wing (instead of the more usual main wing and tailplane), with full-span control surfaces on the forward wing serve as combined elevators and flaps and ailerons being located inboard on the rear wing? This would be amazing as its hard to wrap ones mind around how the Rutan Quickie Q1,Q2,Q200 and other tandem wing control surfaces work etc.

For some strange reason I understand someone who is NOT speaking perfect English so much better...maybe it's because you use 'plain' English ? Speaking a little more slower also helps me. Thanks for finally teaching me about flaps and their 'secondary use' at last, I had so many problems understanding their use compared to ailerons ! ( Or maybe I'm just dumb ???... )

some late information. at 2:28, this is not the cg; it is the center of MASS (c-m). cg is a span-wise line of balance that is specific to when an aircraft is flying, and its mass is 'supported by' the main wing.

So elevators and flaps do the same job?
@basspuppy13310 ай бұрын
No. The flaps change the aerodynamics of the plane directly by creating drag/lift. The elevators simply direct the rear of the plan either up or down which results in tilt.

what happens when a fighter fires a heavy missile or bomb off one wing ? what does a pilot do about the sudden weight difference ?
@Rocket_man12343 жыл бұрын
The pilot would roll the aircraft using something called the trim, this allows the aircraft to be permanently rolling in one direction to counteract the weight, but usually, the heaviest weaponry that would cause this is placed near the middle of the aircraft meaning very minimal trim is needed.

@daviddavids28842 жыл бұрын
did you mean full strip ailerons.? if so, full strip ailerons are typically used only on cropdusters. where, extreme (low-speed) maneuverability is needed. i.pinimg.com/736x/5b/f4/6a/5bf46a0812081dc51a01bad0ad36d5cf--tattoo-ideas.jpg
