Aircraft Fire Protection System

A video description of the Aircraft Fire Protection system by IATC Instructor Mr. Muhammad Guduf. Students are encouraged to take notes and expand on learning outcomes covered on this lecture.
The video wasn't intended as a detailed lesson rather it was intended to have students delve deeper self study from resources available to them over college curriculum as well the internet resource.

You would use CO2 on electric fires not dry powder. For fluid fires you would use dry powder as the CO2 would atomise the fluid making the fire worse.

You can tell, this guy got a bit confused, I'm sure you can see that all the bottles say Halon anyway which is the only extinguisher type that the duopoly of airliners use that can be used by humans. Cut him some slack, he's talking about very technical, non standard nomenclature, and he's obviously feeling pressured so cut him some slack. If I could speak 2 languages I'd be proud of myself for pulling that off, and so should he.

When he mentioned the most reactive metals: lithium/potassium and a very high temp burning metal:magnesium, he said that we'd use halon for this as well; which I think he meant to say for electrical fires. Especially, as I said, Powder and water is not used on airliners now!

You said that the content of the fire extinguishing bottle is POWDER. You are giving a wrong information, I DON'T BELIEVE IN YOUR TEACHING. It should be Bromo Triflouro Methane or BTM designated as HALON 1301.
