He is a real combat pilot. Keeping that ejection cannister from his accident and the rest, is typical combat pilot. Our Apache pilots always requested the bullet parts and shrpanels maintainers removed.

The Mirage in Payerne is, in fact, a Dassault Mirage III DS (MSN MD470, built in 1982). A rather remarkable piece of machine!

It might make a difference, I'm sure he'd sell more english copies. The problem is the Mirage isn't really that iconic, outside of France and Belgium etc.

@@exiletsj2570 That IS a problem. I've gotta admit that outside of the Israeli experience I know next to nothing about the combat record of the Mirage line. I do think the planes are good-looking. The Rafale is the ultimate development of this group but the Mirage 2000 was probably the nicest-looking direct link to the lineage -- with a single engine. The Rafale seemed to fix most if not all the problems deltas generally have.

@@dougerrohmer Oh, yeah! There IS the South African connection with its Mirage III's and their Cheetah upgrade production. The Cheetahs were supposed to be the nicest upgrade of the Mirage III outside of the Israeli Kfir with the GE J79 turbojet. Draken International supposedly bought a few Cheetahs (12; 1/3 of the production run) to use as adversary planes to train fighter pilots in the US. There's a history of using delta fighters for adversary planes in the US. They used Kfirs (called F-21s in the US) for about a decade between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s (but they weren't used by Top Gun; primarily a Marine Corps adversary trainer) and, of course, the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is the best-known delta ever used by American forces as an adversary plane. It's got a conventional tail but it's technically a delta like the F-16 is.
