I built this kit last year & it was a beaut - well engineered, parts fit was great, only a small amount of filler needed on the chin radiator housing (probably my fault, on balance), nothing brutal about it. Maybe you were unlucky & got a bad copy - why not try another one? They're cheap enough.

@@ianhutchinson9330 I just bought this kit, too, Ian, and it looks gorgeous. Did you detail the aircraft with the Eduard detail set that Alex used back then? Got any pics of the finished model, or tips, comments?

THAT my dear modeling friend is a BEAUTIFUL build! Somebody's MOJO was shining on this one. Great idea using the Tamiya weathering kit color "soot" for post shading. I have never seen anyone do that and it looks great. Another technique of your's that I'm going to put in my pocket. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and your family.

Very well done. 👍👍 I know it’s a hard choice to put that much detail into 1/72. I’ve never worked with Airfix until recently. I’ve always heard they weren’t all that great, but what they are producing now is really quite impressive for 1/72 scale. Again....well done. Thanks for sharing your work.

It looks like a typical AIRFIX Kit, with gaps as big as the Grand Canyon, lots of flash. For the amount of time they have been producing kits you would think they would be doing it a bit better by now. But then again you get what you pay for I suppose. I would rather spend a few sheckles more and get better quality.
@supercededman3 жыл бұрын
You petty prique. You're one of those brand snobs I detest, denigrating the pleasure that some manufacturers gave us decades ago, and to whom some of us are still very loyal. Whilst not at the top level, of say, Tamiya or Eduard, Airfix's newer kits are pretty good, and very, very good value for money. Just go away, with your negativity.
