That’s some of the best scale looking chrome I’ve ever seen!!!!!! So much better than that horrible chrome sprue’s you get and the thick stuff that comes from those pens. Well done Sir, top work old chap.

Revell do a 1/16 BMW isetta bubble car that has the decal you're after Harry. Maybe get hold of one and scan it? You could also build it and would go well with your bike. Nice build mate. Wish airfix would re release this.
@HarryHoudiniModels4 жыл бұрын
I actually have the Isetta, was another gift from Becker last Christmas. I did check that decal, but there is only one, and it’s a little small. I have the colour logo from BMW in my computer so just need to get someone to print it on decal paper for me. My printer is a monochrome laser, so not up to the task.

Another very nice build. Just goes to show that old models if well designed are still a viable option even today. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Regards.

Great build Harry, who would have thought a 45-year-old model could look as good as this.

It was a good kit back then and with the few tweaks I’ve added has the potential to be a great kit now.

Hi Harry hope you are well, remember building this kit when I was a boy, was inspired by Steve McQueen in the great escape & was as good then as it was for you. Happy modelling from over the pond. 👍🏻😃
@HarryHoudiniModels4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark. Yes the motorcycle escape scene with McQueen is a classic and I bet he wished he had the more modern R69 rather than the Triumph TR6 disguised as a BMW R75 used in the movie.

That is one beautiful Build Harry and superb paint job. I built this model from my 'Stash' in the late 90's. Back then I used the Model Master range of paints from Testors, which at the time did a pretty pucker job. Keep the Vids coming.

I use a 2mm Molotow Liquid Chrome pen on big surfaces like exhausts, just finished the Airfix BSA C15 using a 1mm and 2mm pen, came up great. Seeing what a nice job you made of this build I'm tempted to go over the old Airfix BMW R69 I made 45 years ago now!

That's a great looking Beemer build Harry ! You did some precision scraping for those pinstripes. What was the closing music ? It sounded like it could be Doc Watson .
@HarryHoudiniModels4 жыл бұрын
The closing track is a KZbin freebie called Tea for Two. So could be a sound-a-like. I was using music from my old royalty free TV Jingle library, from when I made TV adverts, but some one now claims rights to those tracks and then tries to steal my monetisation. So I have to use KZbin approved music, unless I play my own. Bask! Tune the banjo!

Chrome parts the reason I never got into scale car modelling but this chrome method I can pull off. Maybe my GTO's can see the light of day and my 55 shoe box Chevy and of course it's younger brother the 57 Bel Air. Bike looks great.

Great job 👍 Hey Harry where did the front number plate go?
@HarryHoudiniModels4 жыл бұрын
The kit had one of those suicide front wheel fender ones. Most owners would rip them off and just use the back plate. Too many riders were sliced in half when they went over the bars in a prang. So those front plates were eventually banned.

Lovely build Harry - could you please tell me what the (FTRC) means in the corner of you screen - thanks George from the UK
@HarryHoudiniModels4 жыл бұрын
Thanks George. FTRC stands for Fokker The Rivet Counters. The name of my Facebook group. It was a response to a lot of rivet counting trolls I had to deal with many years ago. I might design a logo for my channel and use that as my watermark instead.
